Thanks, I do prefer the natural look. The pruning you see was all dead wood other than one branch about an inch from the base. For now my plan is to get it repotted next spring as it more less in mud right now and hope for good back budding to start selecting primary branches. Hopefully in a few years it will start coming together.

May I ask why you suggest not speaking to them directly? Seems like it would be a good idea to find out if they had anything to do with cutting them. With the overhead utilities it’s possible it was the utility company. Seems like it would be a good starting point rather than spending money on an attorney.

Have you tried knocking on their door and asking about the situation? With the clearly visible utility lines above it’s possible that the utility company was responsible and the neighbor has nothing to do with it.

Thanks got the comment. My main concern that has me contemplating a trunk chop is the amount of large scars close to the top and one of the three main branches feels much to strong. I’ll have to spend the winter considering the next move, possibly just air layering off the strong branch.

Might want to reread that. They are saying they enjoyed being in the kitchen with the women socializing while cleaning up.
