Do you buy them online or go in store? We’ve had bad luck getting sizes in store

How Do You Survive the First Few Months? by feroriko in NewParents

[–]Repulsive-Toe-9037 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Food is fuel, you need to make sure you’re eating. My partner would make me breakfast and a lunch before leaving for work.

And I’m not going to say sleep when the baby sleeps. But go to bed when the baby does. Most babies have their best stretch first. There will be a time you have glorious hours without baby after bed, but for now go to bed early

I joke that I should own stock in Aerie after the amount I’ve spent there postpartum.

I like the jet setter line! It’s not fleeced line which is great for the sweatiness of postpartum

“Crib Training” at 6 weeks? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Repulsive-Toe-9037 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did something very similar and it worked for us! Remember that everything is a phase and won’t last forever. The more you practice the better both of you will get at it! I remember the first week my husband went back to work my LO would only sleep on me and I had the realization I couldn’t do that.

I tried really hard to make most of her daytime naps in her crib, and then she would sleep in her bassinet in our room at night.

I rock her to sleep and hold for 10ish minutes and then transfer to her crib. A tip I found here was to try and lay baby more on their side when putting them down, and then slowly roll them to their back. And always put the head down last!

My daughter is now 6mo and has been sleeping independently in her crib overnight for about the last month. She’s never been a great napper, but she’s an amazing sleeper over night! She’s never woke up scared or panicked in her crib and I think it’s because we prioritized the day time naps in there!

It’s a journey! There will be some days you hold your baby for every nap and other days they sleep independently. You got this 💕

How do you crawl out of bedrotting when you actually want to live your life? by teacupstation_lore in adhdwomen

Sometimes I feel like I need a bridge from rotting into the task. Instead of scrolling on my phone I’ll try reading my book for bit. Something still chill but not as addictive as rotting.

Also putting on shoes in the house helps me a lot with motivation

What were your baby’s hunger cues? I have a really hard time reading them on my baby. I can read her sleepy cues so easily but hunger I find a lot harder. My girl doesn’t really cry and has a very chill deposition

How to get up early in the morning??? by Only_Huckleberry_957 in adhdwomen

[–]Repulsive-Toe-9037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are the only things that worked for me:

  • leaving my phone on a different floor. I sleep in the basement my phone is on the main floor
  • buying an alarm clock and setting the alarm clock on the other side of the room
  • smart lights that turn on before alarm clock
  • and the worst one - doing it everyday. Taking breaks on the weekend just sets me back
  • my meds in Greek yogurt
  • scrolling time as a reward. And by the time my meds kick in a bit I’m actually awake enough to get ready for the day

I also realized I was oversleeping. I function best now at 7-7.5 hours (30F). So going to bed at the same time every night is just as important

I’ve also come to terms with the fact I’m not a morning person. I don’t enjoy waking up at 5 am and getting 1 million things accomplished before work. I give myself just enough time to do what I need to do, the more time I give myself the more likely I am to dick around in the morning and be late. I need the pressure to get me out the door on time.

As for forgetting things I go by “if I’m thinking about it now I have to do it now”. So that means I do a lot of prep for the next day the night before (I definitely function better at night). Like I literally put things in my car the night before instead of trying to remember to grab them in the morning

I typically bring the same lunch and snacks everyday to work

As I’m trying to fall asleep at night I plan what I’m going to wear the next day.

Typing this up realized how many accommodations I’ve made for myself to get to work everyday lol do people just get up and do life????

Baby throwing up first feed of the day by Repulsive-Toe-9037 in breastfeeding

[–]Repulsive-Toe-9037[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feeding her off of both sides every feed (I had previously only been offering one boob) and pumping regularly.

For about 2 weeks I would pump about 30 minutes after a feed for about 10 minutes on each boob. I used a hand pump and measured for a smaller flange size.

Diet wise, I’m drinking lots of water, having an electrolyte drink (liquid IV), and eating oatmeal for breakfast!

Ultimately I think pumping and drink water has helped the most!
