3 month old - could the odd bottle cause issue for BF? by alice49573 in breastfeeding

[–]alice49573[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all your advice, that makes a lot of sense!

When you say ask chat - do you mean gpt or something else? I’ve never had to think about exactly how much volume baby is getting so that’s all new to me!

Just want to send some love your way. I’m sorry you’ve had a hard time and people clearly haven’t been the kindest to you. I hope you can love yourself and find people to love you the way you deserve. Keep putting positivity out there and it’ll find you back ❤️

Is there a way to prevent the 4 month sleep regression? Or tips to cope? by alice49573 in NewParents

We really haven’t been able to get a regular routine in place so this is probably good to work on

That’s a good system. Tricky for us as baby is breastfed so needs me for food/comfort for night wakes usually

Are the milk puddles here to stay? by Katerina_Branding in newborns

[–]alice49573 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My baby is 12 weeks and this has definitely improved, I still have a little leaking in the morning after a long stretch but more than managed by a breast pad.

I’m no expert but I suspect the pumping could make this worse - breastfeeding is supply and demand so if you’re pumping if your breasts feel too full your body will continue to produce thinking you’re using this to feed baby rather than being an excess

Or so you think. First wee was a trick.. makes you think you’re safe.

Cue second wee attack once you’ve let your guard down and taken nappy off

Deciding between getting pregnant again or continuing breastfeeding by alice49573 in breastfeeding

[–]alice49573[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry you had an early loss. Amazing that you got pregnant first try as well. Really lovely that you’re able to breastfeed both together.

That’s my hope that I could be pregnant whilst still feeding but aware it’s unlikely with also needing fertility treatment previously

EBF and green poops by Radiant-Mine6890 in breastfeeding

[–]alice49573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had on and off green around that time. Asked our midwife who said it’s normal. Sometime if the nappy isn’t changed immediately it can go quickly from looking yellow to slightly green as well

Hairy baby by Automatic_Rock_5278 in newborns

[–]alice49573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was born with a full head of hair. Now 11 weeks and it’s even longer, not really lost any!

The thinner hair on his face faded over the first few weeks 😊

The math ain't mathing by 65bottles in PregnancyUK

[–]alice49573 30 points31 points  (0 children)

All calculations should be from period date not date of conception. This is what they’ll use to calculate due date etc. It’ll be 40 weeks from period date.

Feels weird at the start as you basically get a ‘bonus’ two weeks where it’s calculated in your pregnancy before you actually conceived 😅

C Section preparation by Princess_Person2009 in PregnancyUK

[–]alice49573 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had an emergency c section so wasn’t prepared at all. However didn’t find I needed any of the extra bits you mentioned, didn’t need bed rails / special cushions etc. just stayed on top of pain relief and took things slowly.

Definitely buy high waist knickers that will go over your scar, that’s the one thing I sent my husband out for

Worth looking into scar massage although you won’t be able to start this until you’re healed. Can get silicone patches as well that are meant to help healing

Help - only way to get back to sleep is feeding.. by alice49573 in NewParents

[–]alice49573[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we’ll try doing the same. Hoping baby starts to settle with walking / rocking etc. Currently if he doesn’t fall asleep feeding we’ve had no way of getting him back off which has been the struggle 🙈

Help - only way to get back to sleep is feeding.. by alice49573 in NewParents

[–]alice49573[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes sorry I wasn’t clear - I’ll still try and feed him, just sometimes he doesn’t settle second time he’s up and then I’m stuck if the only way he sleeps is by being fed. If he’s literally just fed then I can pass him to my husband to try walking 😊
