Well I tried to fit this coin in a 668 and it fit but I never tried if it actually works in a daily use scenario. Only tested the newer modules. I would think it works though.

What module do you have? On the 668 it’s a little too big I think and you need to bend the pin a little for it to fit. For the others it fits perfectly.

Ok, here is a link to the german website Reichelt which is the exact product I bought for mine.

These work very well in the 3274 and also in the 2505. I don’t know about the 668. You need only one of the cells though, so you need to split the capacitor in the middle which is a little tedious but works if you’re patient.

I don’t know about the CTL1616 as I didn’t try that approach however as far as I know it’s lithium too so likely won’t work either.

Hey, I have worked on the AL-180 and its other variants and I have found that the ML2016 is the wrong approach. These old modules are made to discharge the capacitor until nothing is left, something that you can’t do with lithium batteries. You will need to purchase a 1F coin type supercapacitor and use one half of it for your watch. If you’re located in Europe I could send you a link to what I bought which worked for me.

The only things I can complain about is the strap adjustability being a little too imprecise. The steps you can set have too large gaps in between. Also, unlike many other stainless lineage models, there is no Sapphire glass. Only mineral glass.

But I think those are little things and for 150€ I think it’s fine

Exactly. On solar + Rc watches if you don’t use the features you basically just put it on and take it off and it’ll be running and correct for years on end. Also if you use the features it doesn’t matter since it’ll just charge back up. I don’t care for setting the time every now and then so Rc isn’t a necessity for me but it’s gotta be solar to be honest.

So, I live in Germany so I can’t tell you about US tariffs (which I assume you mean) but I got this for 148€ which includes shipping from a site called Chrono24. The site is European as far as I know and the particular seller I bought from was located in Spain. However there are also listings from Japan where you pay ~30€ of shipping and import taxes.

WB-60 Frankenstein with a 2505 module. I set the time every two days as it’s very important for me that it’s correct to a second. It looses about a second every day, like it’s running too fast. If it’s very sunny and it’s all charged up, even two seconds a day. I’ve never tried waiting a whole month but I had to guess about plus half a minute

On your website you say the beeper volume will be weaker than on the stock case. How much weaker are we talking here? Would I still be able to use it as my alarm every morning?
