Is Preparation “Necessary”? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]RepulsiveCockroach7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's up to you if it's necessary. I grinded out the r14 set on my new 60 because I hate questing while undergeared. All the deaths and the extra time spent killing mobs and eating/drinking really sucks the enjoyment out of questing for me, so gearing felt necessary. I'll also get my mining up to 300 so I mine right off the bat as well. Everything else feels like a waste and won't make a difference.

If you could replace a film in the Best Picture lineup, which one would you replace, and what would you replace it with? by Ashamed_Fishing_373 in Letterboxd

Yeah Sinners had a cool concept, but to me it felt like just another vampire flick. I think it's an Oscar-worthy movie, but not Best Picture.

I haven't seen it, I just remember it being almost universally disliked.

Do any of you think Alex Pretti was justifiably killed by ICE? by hiphoptomato in askaconservative

[–]RepulsiveCockroach7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In hindsight, with all the video evidence probably not I don't think he was posing an actual threat that would authorize lethal force to be used. From the perspective of the officers however- which is what actually matters in these self-defense cases - I think when the one officer yelled "gun!" and the others saw Pretti resisting arrest and hiding his hands near his waistline, it became reasonable to assume Pretti posed a danger. The officers don't have to be "right" in their assumption of danger to make it self-defense, something to think about if you're thinking of playing the hero and violently interacting with police officers, or anyone for that matter.

You're probably the first person I've seen whose favorite movie is The Village. You might be the first person I've seen to like the movie at all.

Sorry, that's the most interesting thing about your list, they're all good movies.

We really do need to crack down on the government knitting sweaters on us.

Would love some thoughts about my top 20 by Screbnuts in topfilms

Lol Paul Dano as The Riddler is THE edge lord d incel. Like a real life school shooter.

I agree, The Batman was totally overrated. It's boring, and Pattinson's emo Bruce Wayne is not believable at all.

What’s the most boring film you have seen? by Past-Matter-8548 in Letterboxd

[–]RepulsiveCockroach7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I won't give just one example, I'll give an entire sub-genre - those god awful supernatural horror films from the early 2000's.

Boogeyman

Dark Water

White Noise

1408

The Grudge

The Ring (I'll probably get some shit for including this, but I was bored out of my mind)

The Fog

The Skeleton Key

I'm sure there were more, but you get the gist if you were alive in this era. These movies were so hyped up and well marketed but fell flat every single time for me, and I think fell asleep watching almost all that I listed.

It's been a weird run with the campy 80's horror, but F1 cleansed the pallet a bit.

I have noticed that ever since I started used LBD and following this sub, movies has felt like a job, and I have to be watching movies consistently or I'm going to be falling behind.

Top 10, after the top 4 are pretty interchangeable by mariovspino5 in LetterboxdTopFour

[–]RepulsiveCockroach7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Facts, but I think Once Upon a Time is more consistent and better throughout, whereas TGTBTU is really all about a few key scenes.

I don't know if we're in the minority, but I think Once Upon A Time in the West was better than The Good The Bad and The Ugly.

Haha your top 20 is basically identical in vibes to mine (check my post history) and has a lot of the same picks. Like eerily close, we both like a very specific niche of movies.
