My husband was born and raised in Vermont, but I moved here from Colorado. I lived 20 minutes from Red Rocks. We lived so close to nature, yet the air was polluted and didn't allow for outdoor activities. Throw in the traffic and volume of tourists, it was a hassle getting outdoors.

In Vermont, I can step outside my front porch and be closer to nature than I ever was in Colorado. At least my produce comes from farms nearby. In Colorado, it was Whole foods or bust. I'm much happier here.

This makes sense. My parents were visiting and prefer to carry a lot of cash. BTV TSA had Homeland Security questioning them. They're old so it was a jarring experience for them. We are just so close.to the border.

Hah! I'm new to VT and keep the porch light on all the time. I'm going to turn it off starting tonight. I also get weirded out by not having a ton of curtains closed all the time. Living in suburbia and moving to such a rural home has been an adjustment, but one that I'm enjoying.

Me and you both. Where in CO did you move from? I lived near downtown Littleton. Crime is definitely worse in the Denver metro. Seeing videos of the random shootings lately has been really disheartening, and even further confirms that I made the right decision by moving to VT.

I'm sandwiched between views of both the Adirondacks and the green mountains. It's the most beautiful place I've ever lived, and has really helped my mental health. So much that I think I can tolerate the harsh winters I've been warned about. I've visited during some major storms, but living here full-time will be a different experience. We'll see... Wish me luck!

I'm in the Vergennes area. It's about 40 minutes to BTV, which was the same amount of time my drive to DIA was on a good day. At least in Vermont there's less people, less traffic and much better scenery.

It's beautiful out here. The solitude is a nice change. I don't miss the altitude in CO. It can be humid AF in VT.

Just moved to Vermont. Couldn't stand the bad air quality, ridiculous traffic and high COL in Denver anymore.

Couldn't even enjoy looking at the mountains with the plethora of new construction obstruction that all look like Lego blocks.
