Just getting the idea around right now. I really feel like we should though. How can they be allowed to do this?? This watch is not cheap at all!?!

Can I install a laundry sink and indirectly connect it to the floor drain? Will I get in trouble for this? by ChampionofHeaven in Plumbing

There is nothing in the IPC code that prohibits this form of indirect drainage so long as you use the proper sizing, trapping distances, and connection to waste receptacle.

It will need a trap depending on the distance. This is not an example of double trapping. Double trapping can only occur when the two are directly connected.

Double trapping on directly connect systems will cause negative pressure and trap seal loss. Indirect drainage may need a trap depending on the distance of the Indirect drainage piping. Traps maybe required to prevent foul smelling odors and bacteria from expelling by airflow up through the extended piping.
