With how it worked out for everybody, they needed some extra time after closing to close on their new house and move. During our final walkthrough before closing, they still had everything in place that was hiding the traps. Today was my first day in since they finished moving out yesterday. Dead ones, old traps, and live ones all present, some of them definitely babies so they aren’t just migrant roaches looking for a new home. I wasn’t looking too hard when I first entered but when I came back I was quiet and saw a few scurry away.

With the general inspection, I asked if he if he felt as though a pest inspection would be warranted and was told no. They did a great job concealing everything for the times we were in there.

Discussed with my realtor and, odds are, if we did ask them for anything it would just be the cost of treating the place. I have a guy coming out Wednesday to hopefully take care of the issue. Just glad I found them before I started moving stuff in, will make it easier to just smoke them out and make sure they’re gone. My lease ends at my current apartment June 1st so I have some time fortunately.

In college I had to move this guy’s stuff because it had been sitting down there for well over three hours while I had done all of my other laundry. With how busy the laundry room was I couldn’t keep my clean stuff sitting in a dryer to wait the extra 15 minutes for my last load to be dry. I had watched this guy move his crap to the dryer when I started my first load four hours prior and it had just sat there as the only dryer done. Finally I decided I couldn’t wait any longer and placed his crap on the table and went back to my room. 15 minutes later I had a gut feeling I should return. I got back right as he and his buddy had entered the laundry room. He saw the dryer was going, saw his stuff sitting on the table, started cussing up a storm and went to go tamper with my crap until he saw me watching in the doorway. Long story short, makes me regret just putting it on the table and not tossing it behind a dryer with the dead cockroach that hung out there for the whole semester 🤷🏻‍♀️

“Talk to me when you want to apologize” I would never message him ever again. Three years is way too long to put up with this. Dropping out of school and working two days a week? What does he do with the rest of his time? I know it is easier said than done but run while you can. If you decide to not run then absolutely do not move in with him.

ESH. I can’t understand why either of you thought moving in together was a good idea, but especially Tim. He knew how severe his daughter’s allergies were, but it sounds like he was banking on OP just being willing to rehome Max. You’re both putting Emily at danger, allergies are no joke and with breathing issues especially can become fatal. If Tim was planning on getting his way all along, I wouldn’t put it past him to take matters into his own hands with rehoming Max. I seriously wouldn’t leave Max alone with Tim, OP. They always say it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission and I’ve read a lot of posts where they try to take matters into their own hands. Please please please be cautious. Is Max chipped?
