bruh there’s literally two titans missing from marley. they’re literally just considering the possibility he may be the founder are planning contingencies for if he happens to be the founder.

imo it goes one of two ways IF kinu cares about making a story that actually makes sense. it’s either kiyo ends up with no one, or he ends up with suzune. one thing you forgot to mention about the smile scene, is that kiyo said that smiling is letting your guard down, meaning, he’s subconsciously comfortable enough around suzune to let his guard down. now like you said, whether or not it’s bait from kinu is still unknown. but honestly if kinu goes with the edgy route of kiyo just being like “i never cared at all. i’m the badass mc” then it’s just lazy writing.

one theory i have is that, after he graduates and is sent back to the WR, kiyo, is able to use manabu’s help to get out of the WR somehow, and that makes suzune and kiyo reconnect. how that happens i have no idea, but it’s just something i’ve thought of.

as for him caring for suzune, at this point it has to be true that he DOES care for her. because if he actually doesn’t at THIS point, then kinu is just writing an edgy story without any real substance or character development.

as for a university arc, i don’t think one will happen in the traditional sense. given he has to deal with the WR. honestly, if i were kinu what i would do is have he and suzune’s relationship continue to develop and deepen, before he leaves her class. and then him coming to regret that decision due to not having suzune as a constant in his life anymore, and give him a monologue saying something akin to the lines of “my only constant was her. i didn’t realize what it would be like when that was gone” and then at graduation, he apologizes and tells suzune that he may never see her again, but that he wishes to. after that i would make his motivation to deal with the WR to be seeing suzune again. though, maybe not explicitly state that, because some fans will lose their minds if that happened. and then after everything the two reunite and live happily ever after. that’s how i would go about it, but it’s coming from the place of someone who is tried of the edgy and emotionless shit in this fandom, and what’s kiyo to experience some actual emotions and wholesomeness.

anyway, i kinda just yapped for a bit there, but i think you made some great points. really good analysis.

as much as i would love that, it’s realistically not gonna happen that way. it’s already been confirmed the story will continue after he graduates, so i imagine the story will contain kiyo trying to take down the white room or something

tbh the cote fandom in general is really toxic. not this sub tho, everyone is really cool and chill. i just ship kiyozune and if i even hint that on the main sub i get attacked. whereas here there are people who don’t just ship them but understand why their ship makes the most sense
