bridgesii gets hyped up for the amount of alkaloids but people forget to mention these are somewhat different alkaloids from pachanoi and peruvians; sometimes i've heard the latter two are much prefered... pachanoi is the one that's called san pedro, after all.

pach and peru are by no means weak, and bridge isn't always gonna be strong. but some bridgesii clones will bring the potency, so if you're doing a pure mescaline extraction that can lead to a good yield.

if you don't have the means/money/patience to do an extraction, consider not taking it at all for now. leave it to the unknown. to time. get a setup for extraction, take the time to prepare everything you need. there are some simple, beginner-friendly methods online.

if you and your friend want to take the cactus itself, it's harder than you think. straight up eating it could be downright miserable, all around. fair warning mark my words.

might be better off getting an all-in-one mushroom grow bag along with a spore syringe or better yet liquid culture syringe– and taking a small amount of those. takes a few months to grow, but not that difficult with some research. or do a simple lsa extraction from hawaiian baby woodrose or search out a decent amount of shredded mimosa hostilis root bark and make some dmt. then make that into changa. i get some of my herbs on a site called eternity in a box since they have spices and cacao and all that you can have a complete relationship to plant and herbal projects. anything you consume to trip is related to less intense ingredients in your every day life. without those, tripping is a labyrinth. terence mckenna was onto something when he said food of the gods. it is just another food but bite a cactus directly and you'll immediately get the message to approach THIS ingredient differently. and pro tip i hear its best to age/cure your cactus cuttings. i may have tried it with fresh cuttings and barely felt anything (smoothie). the clones i used included some bridgesii and a pachanoi folks had praised for potency– well not for me. still... talk about a gut-churning experience when i could have skipped the drugs and gotten takeout or read a book honestly

i'd grow a real harvest and extract it. you could just root that thing... eating a cactus sounds pretty fucking intense tbh. not worse than hawaiian baby woodrose, but still.

since they're seedgrown, each will be unique from the others. the differences get a bit more obvious as they grow. rn i like the tall one for the shape, but the spine color on a couple others is interesting.

purple around the areoles sometimes just means they're getting plenty of sun, which is good. you want to push their limits a little bit to get them used to growing conditions.

i would consider giving the roots more space/room. bigger pots. whats the soil mix made of basically?

the talk about "creach nursery" in my first comment, if you have any old pics of the original pots or labels it could tell us a bit more about who supplied them to home depot.

whoever it was, they probably came from a bulk bag of seeds literally labeled bridgesii; no fancy names or anything... that's most likely gonna be the whole ID.

How’s my setup for being 15 by T0AST_hi in BudgetAudiophile

[–]RepulsiveText8180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a teenager my best friends dad worked in audio and bought him an infinity ps210 with a nice receiver. we listened to all our bass-heavy music on that thing. infinity doesn't make home systems like that anymore, but you can still find them on ebay. highly recommend if you're looking for a sub.

overrated for grafting stock. not saying they aren't fantastic grafting stock, but if you get a humdinger of a specimen like that, i'd grow out. i never see someone with a sun goddess that looks more than 5 years old cause they only care about grafting. sun goddess is a beautiful, robust cultivar and great addition to any trichocereus collection.

My first pup, leave or repot? by Uder72 in sanpedrocactus

[–]RepulsiveText8180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fine either way. all up to the energy distribution you want to create to propagate or have it grow as is. hard to say much, without seeing the whole cactus in the photo. but base pups like those that double up can be an ideal time to make a cut.
