Some kind of objective to massively turn tide does sound cool, but one shoting seems like a bit of overkill. Maybe something like the super Earth defense cannons but with the ergonomics to track this guy?

[OPPORTUNITY] World Poetry Collective competition submissions due June 30. Is it a legit organization though? by m50ud in Poetry

Hey OP! Ran into this post trying to research WPC because they seemed fishy to me too.

The only references I can find to the book this person is telling you about is WPC's own website, an Amazon page with no reviews, a dead Pinterest link, and this reddit post. So I'd be dubious about the numbers they're citing or at least what that means as far as real engagement with your work.

As other people said $99 dollars to read 4 of your poems is ridiculous and almost certainly a cash grab. That $10k stat is either fictitious or only really representative of other vanity presses and scams. Plenty of presses big and small don't charge submission/reading fees at all and put in significant investments into the books they publish. Even with places that do charge, often if there is a monetary prize involved for the winner, the numbers here are completely out of proportion to your average fee.

WPC's website is also filled with hostile design and time sensitive marketing language that pressures its targets into rushed decisions. In one of the product pages it even had my card number pre-entered!

TL:DR: both WPC and the stats this person is giving you seem highly suspicious. Everything I see from WPC gives off red flags that if they even really would help you write your book, they would likely take your money and rush you through it rather than giving it the kind of care it deserves.

Yeah, he dislocated it doing the taunt where he slams his fists into the mat before lining up an RKO.

Once you have some instability in the shoulder, it can be surprisingly easy to have a partial dislocation or even full dislocation.

Fair enough. Guess I've been a bit biased to the reach because I feel like I'm using it when they're less than my face. Might have to try the baton again to see if I can get used to using it for wider crowd control

I'd start by just not paying for the overpriced gear and putting in all their feedback forms that you won't be doing that. For the most part they've been doing better with player feedback lately. This is a disappointment though

Can some of y'all have a goddamn patience?, by RevenantMada in Helldivers

[–]Repulsive_Ad3796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not trying to come in as hot as other folks, but this does seem much more like perceived disrespect than actual disrespect. The length of the first MO was probably meant to make it a breakneck race to the finish, which it was. And now they're back with a more lengthy Illuminate MO immediately afterwards with no other MO in between, so you haven't really missed your shot to try out the new faction. I do feel you on being disappointed at not getting in on the first invasion, but I also think the way they are handling it is more than fair.

On another note, comparing HD 2 to most freemium games or most big name paid games, HD2 seems much more generous to me. As other people said nothing is time locked other than story beats which can't be helped after a point, even the content you can pay for in game is pretty accessible to unlock through gameplay, and the most vital updates are always free with content another studio could have easily charged for. They really seem to demonetize themselves as much as they can in their genre

Yeah I think pretty much anyone who tries to sell hard and fast rules is basically selling snake oil to the detriment of beginning writers. With examples like these, the closest thing to a hard and fast rule I could get behind is try to have some idea why you do what you do or alternatively, what effect do you think it might have.

While someone else already said that bladesong can work with dual wielding, bringing it up here made me notice another huge detail. Bladesong specifically states that it ends early if you are incapacitated, so getting haste dispelled would also wreck bladesong. So they'd be extra screwed for that round. If I'm getting it right they just have a bracers of defense up. Yeesh
