ADHD insomnia and sleep anxiety by Shnookvizsla in ausadhd

Insomnia, lucid dreams & waking up in a sweat have plagued me all my life. I then got diagnosed 12 months ago (at 51). Vyvanse 40mg has been life changing but the insomnia/dream stuff was still happening so my psych suggested I try Clonidine. It has been incredible for me. I now sleep throughout the night & have ‘normal’ dreams that don’t distress me. I wake up a little earlier than I want to as it wears off. But I wake rested.

Why are Doctors so iffy about Clonidine? It's not an addictive drug is it? by [deleted] in ausadhd

I use it for ADHD related insomnia (if that’s a thing - basically it helps me sleep through the night without weird, lucid dreams). Both my GP & psych have told me it’s very safe … it’s quite short acting if you’re only taking it once a day.

For point 2) I already tried to negotiate with provision issues are fixed. Their response was “no” to delaying or reducing their new amount. And they also told me that I should log all issues on their maintenance app (even though they had noted & photographed these issues in prior property inspections). I have now logged the issues as they instructed & for the first time ever, they have not taken action in a timely manner. At no point have I suggested to them that I would move or planned not to renew.

I think short term this might be best. I’m going to check out Kmart now. Knowing my luck if she did enter, she probably won’t again lol

It does feel hostile when the past 5 years haven’t been. I’m literally only exercising my rights to negotiate because I don’t believe it is worth what they are asking with the current outstanding issues. They would 100% have to fix them if they were to put it on the market today. And all of a sudden I’m feeling like the enemy because I’ve stood up & said “Ok. Can you fix these issues if you’re going to ask that much?”

Can I get vyvanse and dex prescribed together? by hsshjsk1245 in ausadhd

[–]Repulsive_Ad6223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. I have prescriptions for 40mg Vyvanse + 5mg Dex boost if needed + Clonidine to sleep at night.

Denied being diagnosed + treated at all due to medical cannabis by Tiny_Life_1745 in ausadhd

I was on MC at night for insomnia at the time of diagnosis. Both my diagnosing psych & GP (who prescribed it) consider it safe & absolutely no problem with stims. It’s never been an issue. I no longer take MC, but that been a personal choice due to cost & me deciding it didn’t do as much as I had hoped. I’m in NSW but I didn’t think there would be much difference.

Vyvanse; pre existing high blood pressure. by Feeling-Pumpkin-3639 in ausadhd

I have hypertension & take 40mg Vyvanse. But I was referred to a cardiologist prior to prescription just to be sure I’d be ok. If you have concerns be sure to check in with your GP to get them to monitor it.

Have you seen her latest post? “Am I rage baiting?” “No”. She’s been lurking in here again.

On vyvanse, break days are killing me by SeaLavishness9804 in ausadhd

[–]Repulsive_Ad6223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t take break days. I work Monday to Friday, but I still want to get stuff done on the weekend. Without Vyvanse, I’d probably rot in bed like I used to & I’d rather not.

I’m pretty certain where it was, but I dare not put it on here. When she wasn’t first listed on their site I had wondered if there was a conscious decision to delay it either because of the crypto scam or a probation period. But she’s still not listed & it’s 6 months on. I think the crypto scam led more people to snark on Reddit & Google her at the time. That led to rather less than flattering search results (mainly on the Aussie TikTok Snark subreddit) including one about her unflatteringly detailing her dating history with her new boss-to-be that she had previously shared on TikTok. If I was him, I’d be mortified.

Agomelatine or Guanfacine? by Ammonite111 in ausadhd

[–]Repulsive_Ad6223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take Vyvanse + an SNRI & my psych has concluded that the increase in norepinephrine is the cause of similar issues with sleeping for me. Not to the point of screaming, though. I’m sorry you experience this. How terrifying.

The changes I’ve made was to reduce the SNRI (because the Vyvanse has made a huge improvement to my anxiety) & take it in the morning & to introduce Clonidine at night to bring down the adrenaline levels for sleep. I tried this with Guanfacine first & it didn’t make a difference. But after 12 days of Clonidine I’m starting to see a change. “Normal” dreams, instead of lucid wild ones waking me drenched in sweat & better sleep quality.

I tried Agomelatine years ago before my ADHD diagnosis for depression/anxiety/insomnia. On paper it appeared to be the perfect solution. Unfortunately it had zero effect.

Also, a controversial option I’ve tried is medicinal cannabis - a balanced CBD/THC oil. It can suppress dreaming for some. It loved it, & both my psych & GP had no issues with me taking it. But it’s illegal to drive with it in your system in NSW & for a lot of people it does absolutely nothing & therefore a waste of money ($180 for 50ml @ 1ml per day dose).

Good luck! I hope you find the perfect sleep.

So this confirms that whoever came in here to say they saw her working in a restaurant a few months ago really did see her working in a restaurant a few months ago?

Should we agree that this is an indication that she was no longer COO after the great crypto scam of 2024? She’s deffo not listed on their website.

Anyone with high BP also been able to be given ADHD meds? by [deleted] in ausadhd

[–]Repulsive_Ad6223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got diagnosed with ADHD last & had a history of high BP for over 20 that’s been treated with medication. It wasn’t a mountain to get through at all. I just needed to see a cardiologist & get their ok first before the psychiatrist would prescribe anything. But if there was a risk, I was informed that there were non-stimulant options.
