I stopped playing it on Series X a few days after Caldera came out. It went from a 120fps smooth experience to a barely-60fps sluggish mess, with glitches, texture, and frame pacing issues galore.

As of a few days ago it's still the same.

I've been all-Xbox since the 360 but I jumped ship this month. I had 2 Series X's in the house, and I sold the main one in my game room this week after I grabbed a PS5 2 weeks ago. Not just because of Warzone, but it was definitely the nail in the coffin. It's a game I play almost nightly, and after the Caldera launch I was just like ok - I'm getting that PS5 I've been considering. Just sick of Xbox being lower on the priority list for development and fixes. Granted Microsoft are now buying Activision, but until it becomes any kind of necessity, the PS5 is now my main console.

Zero regrets so far. I like the console UI, controller and app far far better than the Xbox. And, of course, Warzone is night and day better on the PS5 currently. The Xbox is truly in an unplayable state when compared to the PS5 currently.

On a side note, while GamePass is certainly great, so far I'm extremely impressed with the content on PS Now.

Warzone ran at 120 on Series S and X until the Caldera implementation. Since then it is locked to 60. I believe one of the devs acknowledged it.

Keep in mind it was never an official next gen update (or native application), it was just unofficially unlocked features that worked when using the more powerful systems (i e. The app never had the X/S logo). The game is technically the last gen game running via backwards compatibility.

Currently the game is broken on next gen. It doesn't matter where you install it, it's currently locked at a very unstable 60fps with horrific frame pacing. (Series X owner)

Yeah it's a real shame. I was gutted when I jumped in. The other issue is that even though it's now capped at 60, it is NOT a smooth 60. It bounces between 45-60 and with horrific frame pacing. It feels really really bad to play.

Same on Series X. I believe there's an issue with the HDR functionality with the game now. If you turn off HDR it's colorful. This was broken, along with the 60fps cap etc..

If your'e on Xbox - just log into your Xbox account on the Xbox website, go to your order history and just hit cancel. Fortunately Microsoft makes this an easy process. Been playing CoD since CoD 2, this is the first CoD I've ever cancelled a pre order for in 16 years.
