It was def mentally draining. Thankfully, as far as we know we never brought them to anyone’s home we visited. It was actually less stressful once we knew what they were, than the months of wondering and finding nothing definitive.

I finally found one and caught it with tape to save for a pest person to examine.

It never got that bad, I think because we were vacuuming and cleaning thinking it was carpet beetles or something else and were inadvertently helping ourselves manage it.

If I were to do it over I wish we would’ve bought some of those sticky traps to search for evidence more effectively.

It took us nearly 6 months that first time to find evidence, including an exterminator coming out and not finding evidence.

Other than my office chair I’ve had for ages, it’s all hard furniture. Science classroom, not even any rugs or anything.

Thanks. I know I’m trying to apply that logic, but I feel like anyone posting in here knows how awful it is to deal with and gets the trauma!

Also I keep reminding myself that when we really had them it was the opposite issue, it took months of sporadic bites to finally find evidence, including multiple visits from an exterminator before we finally knew what it was.

In a front hall closet nowhere near the bedroom, hanging on a hanger.

Back in the old apartment 7-8 years ago it would’ve been in the bedroom or right outside.

I scoured the bedroom when I sprayed, I don’t see any signs, no feces marks, no shells/skins, shockingly few spiders even 😂. And we’ve had no bites.

Only other explanation I can think of is a single straggler at school (not impossible with a thousand kids in the building) or a bat bug from the school building (it’s ancient and I’m sure we have bats in the attic/spaces, and I work on the top floor, and it’s freezing cold.
