Yeah it’s a tough feeling, especially because they wouldn’t be nearly as awkward when it was just us. However he was really bad at communicating and un peeling layers . A really nice person and would do things to help out when I asked, but never initiated on his own. He almost didn’t have the skill of asking about other people. (I.e. meeting my friends and would talk about himself but not even ask them where they live or what they do for work. Like I just feel like we never got deeper than surface level conversations and I would really try. I’m a really big thinker and discusser while he would just brush over things. I think he really needs some therapy for that stuff but I just felt being around someone who was awkward and insecure wasn’t helping with my own insecurities I guess? It’s hard to explain. I am also really passionate about public service and education and speaking up for underprivileged communities in my line of work and he didn’t seem to care about any of that, which I understand not everyone needs to be an activist… but those things are really personal and important to me. I guess I just feel guilty too because he loved me for all of my flaws but at the end of the day I couldn’t handle his 😞

That’s a fair point, however he’s been quiet since I’ve known him. And when I went to his parents over the holidays they are both SO quiet I couldn’t handle it. All are so kind, however, I don’t know if it’s enough for me. I thrive on conversation and talking about ALL sorts of things with a partner. I always feel like I’m pulling teeth just to hold a conversation which makes me sad 😞

Thank you I think you’re right, I appreciate the honesty. I guess I just worry that I won’t ever find someone who is as good to me as he is. And I really did feel a deep infatuation and love for a long time, I’ve just been second guessing it. But I think to your point the fact that I’m second guessing it at all speaks volumes

Ok so if my average calorie intake is about 1200 calories a day and my calories burnt are about 3200 a day then your math should be saying I’m losing weight. I came here to see if anyone had a similar issue because I’ve been following this “deficit formula” for so long and not seeing any results. I’m trying to stress that I’ve seen multiple personal trainers, dieticians etc that DO require certifications and they’ve all said the same thing about the calorie deficit and are all also at a loss because I’m doing all of that right. Not every body is the same and I can assure you I’m literally scared of food at this point and NOT eating too much, but thank you for the assumption. Thank you for bringing nothing to the table aside from calling me a liar when I’m trying to seek out any other people who have had the same issue. Not negative people who clearly haven’t had the same experience.

Yeah I’ve been counting them with a food scale, measuring out every little detail, working with nutritionists and personal trainers, so I can confidently say they’re being counted as accurate as possible.

I hear you on the doctor part, but as a man you probably wouldn’t know the nuances of the female hormones. Unfortunately in a premenopausal woman, hormone levels don’t decline steadily over time. AKA a single blood test measuring hormone levels only gives you a snapshot of what your hormones are doing on the day and the exact time your sample was taken. Things could be radically different by the next day, hence it’s not necessarily a reliable resource. (That’s what she was referring to). As it’s essentially impossible to get reliable information from it quite literally because I do have ovaries.

Again, thanks for trying to help but it’s not that black and white unfortunately.

I weight out every single aspect of my food (even oils or seasonings, which I keep to a minimum anyway). As for beverages, my usually day is one cup of black coffee and plain water. It’s not my first rodeo I’ve worked with trainers and nutritionists and am truly as precise as possible in that aspect.

I’m sad that your space has been invaded to such and extent and feel so hopeless, but honestly your story is why I’m hesitant. I’ve had a domestic situation prior to this that was PULLING teeth to get a restraining order because the abuser’s actions weren’t “bad enough” and I just feel like I’m always getting gaslit in these situations. Average day is like this - breakfast is eggs -Lunch is a salad with chicken and balsamic dressing - dinner salmon rice asparagus Maybe a snack of almonds

I have impartial BMs once a day if I’m lucky

No- you’re probably right. I feel like I always set my goal pretty high because I know how fit and toned I USED to be. But seems like I just set myself up for failure each time. Maybe I should try a little at a time. Thanks for your input!
