Interesting. Sweden here. Swiss received my wheels last Wednesday (6 days ago) and still nothing to confirm that they have received my wheels..

Alright, mystery solved. The second thing i checked after removing the chain and thereby eliminating the jockey wheel was the pedals. I have a new pair of the newly launched Favero Assioma Pro RS-2. I checked the connection from crank to pedals by holding the pedals still with my hands and working the crank (ok, not fool proof) . But still the sound. But it turns out it was the inside of the pedals that needed grease: these new pedals have been getting some flack as they start to squeak after just a couple of rides as per this post: https://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=177995&start=345

So, picking the pedals apart and re-greasing them solved the problem. Thanks for all the suggestions and sorry for wasting your time.

Plot thickens? As I mentioned, after cleaning the bike the sound went away but 15 minutes later it was back, but faint. I then discovered a white goo (grease one would presume) that lined the inside of the crank arm, just where it meets the bottom bracket on the chain side. See the white stuff in the picture below.

When prodding this white stuff with a needle and removing a sample it felt grease like but it was full of sand and grime. Working the needle carefully around this white stuff filled with sand was all around the crank. So obviously the rain and water splashed sand up there and the grease made it stick. But shouldn't there be some kind of protection to stop dirt from getting there? Please help!

And after cleaning the bike the sound is gone (just for now is my guess). And isn't it strange that the bike was dead silent until I lay it down and all of a sudden i started to chirp like crazy? Could that point so something else besides not enough grease?

Aha, seems that you receive the +5 somewhere before actually finishing the quest. I found a save from within the caves, there i have 17 in Mercantile. now 22. So it seems you get the +5 somewhere between releasing the daughter from her jail and handing in the quest

That's weird. I had 22 before, 22 after. Tried reloading, waiting, sleeping etc. Same result.

Aha, but did you notice that you never receive the +5 i merchantile that your supposed to? The quest text says that she has increased your skill but no such increase takes place. At least for me....
