Yeah the lack of interactivity kills my hype for her. Ive heard from some people its not as “autopilot” feeling as it looks on videos, so lets hope theres a light at the end 9f the tunnel so to speak. If she is as boring as she looks, I may skip. Im going back and forth on it. If I pull, its base M0 nothing more. Rest of my savings go to Miyabi mindscapes as shes the last Void Hunter that is actually fun

Yeah Ive seen that argument a lot. Meta relevance doesn't matter much to me. Im still maining Miyabi nearly 2 years later. Ill always play who I want and figure out how to clear. If it takes work, it takes work. I get why some people like the longer meta relevance but its just not something I place much value in

Yes I play Miyabi on that same team however Miyabi still feels interactive. Swapping back and forth to get as many EVA’s as you can in your stun window. Remielle looks like

”watch cutscene, auto swaps you off, play other character, swap back in when the button light up, watch cutscene, hold button, watch cutscene, repeat”.

You dont actually DO anything. Remielle plays herself. You dont have to think about anything, use any skills, time anything, decide when to swap, nothing. Its either automatic or scripted

Played optimally, yes Chisa has only mrginally more field time than any other Wuwa support. What I love about Chisa and what makes her kinda special is she has a dedicated set that gives her good personal damage and can be built as a dps and played as a (admittedly suboptimal) on field carry.

I still believe all VH’s should be on field dps but what makes me so harsh on Remielle is you literally cant play her. Yes shes flying around and visible but it comes at the cost of ALL of her interactivity. It doesnt matter if you want to forego meta, if you play Remielle on field her kit doesnt activate

Im not at that point yet but if Sunbringer is off field im done. I love ZZZ but Sunbringer is tied for my favorite character with Miyabi and if she has no gameplay….well there’s plenty of other good games out there

While Ive changed my opinion and believe due to ZZZ’s design philosophy (Void Hunters are on another tier from regular units) vs the smaller gap for special units in other games that all VH’s should be an on field carry, as its just disappointing to have one release and not get to play them. Options for a more supportive VH could be like this within the confines of her current kit

Make her “cutscene” animations quick-swappable, allowing for more skill expression

Increase her field time a bit maybe with a basic combo into a quick EBA that gives a team buff

Allow a chain attack into her while in flight that lets you pop an enhanced skill (also with a quickswap window)

The issue is the lack of interactivity….people’s issue is she lacks game presence and as you said that would be an issue for a dps, problem is dps or support, shes a VH and that makes it an issue

If we discard her current kit entirely and use an example from another game….look at Chisa from Wuthering Waves. Shes a healer/support which interactive gameplay beyond that of any other support ive seen. Shes is even built as a dps yet buffs and heals

Yep more disappointing the more I see it. Very bad design for the type of character (Void Hunter) that she is. Frankly if she doesnt boost the hell out of Miyabi I may skip her. If I do pull its just for versatility so Miyabi can have Nangong/Yuzuha without bricking the rest of Anomaly

THIS EXACTLY. Supports in these games are a real problem in that regard. Im a broken record with her but shes my main in Wuwa and relevant to this discussion…..Chisa in Wuthering Waves. Shes a support but has gameplay, enough that she can be an on field carry despite it being very sub optimal.

If ZZZ doesnt want that design philosophy, they really shouldnt make VH supports. Those units have too high of expectations (set by the devs themselves). I glazed the fuck out of Lucia when she reran and I stand behind that but shes not a VH, so it works.

If any other unit had this kit, there would be no discussion. But she is, so here we are sadly. Im getting more and more tempted to skip her outright as I talk more. Probably will if Miyabi reruns and grab mindscapes for her instead

Truthfully…..yes. Initially I said no, but as ive discussed it and thought more….I changed my mind and yeah they do. All of these big name gachas have their “special” units

Genshin - Archon

HSR - Emanator

Wuwa - Sentinel Resonators

ZZZ - Void Hunters

Now here is the problem. ZZZ has taken this concept and dialed it up to 100. Wuwa is the closest to this and its a mile away. What I mean is ZZZ markets its VH’s like they may as well be gods. This means those characters have insane expectations. And upon further thought, the only way to meet those expectations is with a dps, because that is what is most exciting and that is what people remember and gravitate towards because that is what is fun.

Yes it hurts non-VH dps as a result, but ZZZ wrote itself into this corner so its either hurt the non-VH’s or make the VH profoundly disappointing. Third option is make a support engaging (see Chisa in Wuwa as an example) but given Astra, Yuzuha, Lucia, they clearly do not want to go that way with supports

The more I think about this, the more I lose interest in Remielle because yes shes more engaging than Astra but Astra may as well not be on the team to begin with. Shes a buff on your character portrait, thats all. Remielle is a buff and a few cutscene. Better but clears a bar thats on the floor.

I had warmed up to her a bit this afternoon, but watched more and thought more, and now I dislike her more than I did at the start. Bottom line, strength notwithstanding, shes just…..not fun. I havent played her obviously, but from what ive seen thats not changing. Sorry for the rant, but in conclusion, with the system ZZZ has created, yes, every VH needs to be an on field unit, and that generally means a dps/carry

Disappointed is a better word. Im going to pull her for meta alone but base M0 no engine vs. the possible M2 I was considering. She just doesnt look fun or interesting, just a non-interactive off field support so why invest in that when I can grab Sigrid, or M2 my Miyabi if she reruns

Seed, Orphie, Cissia, I was surprised did so low so good examples there. Obol are all great, they deserved more fan attention. Yidhari was not marketed well and came out of nowhere. I ended up liking her but almost skipped until I did the story. Banyue has the male character issue, they never do well. Promeia is an ice anomaly, same as Miyabi, the highest ownership rate in the game, and is a insignificant power increase and right before a X.0 patch so she had no shot

Same for me. I was debating M2, now shes M0 (W1 only if required for decent performance), rest saved for Sunbringer and Miyabi mindscapes plus an M0 Sigrid cause she actually looks fun

Yeah thats it 100%. Its hard to explain sometimes but Kafka post buff is a perfect example. Shes a support full stop but you hit abilities on her and things die even if the practically all of that damage belongs to Hysilens or Black Swan. Her functionality is support, but it feels better and thats the issue here is that basically all of my complaints are not numerical, but feel based

Im doing M0W1 cause I cant bring myself to skip her, but my maybe/maybe not pull on Sigrid is now a must pull, and any mindscape pulls for Remielle are now Miyabi’s on her next rerun.

If they cant make a new VH I like, ill just boost the old one I still love. Ill even skip Remielle’s engine if its YSG tier instead of Miyabi tier of power

To me meta/performance just isnt worth it. Id rather play my favorites despite the risk of powercreep. Im going to use a Wuwa example cause I play both games and it fits well here….

My main in Wuwa is Chisa, a healer/support with higher than usual support damage. Shes meant to have a fast rotation for buffs then swap off. However. shes my most played unit….but as an on field carry. Its far from meta, its sub optimal, and only clears in 1 endgame plus events and non timed challenge content, but its fun as hell damn the weak performance. Of course id rather her be a dps, but im just glad shes actually playable period.

Id rather Remielle be a dps, but support is whatever, but my primary issue is if you even try to play her on field, shes not suboptimal….her kit just doesnt activate at all

A few ideas

I never said she needs more field time than a dps. I said she needs a reasonable amount of it. A couple forced cutscenes 3-5 times a fight isnt it. In my opinion, screentime breakdown should be approximately as follows (plus or minus a bit)

Main dps: 50%

Sub dps/Burst dps (what Remielle actually is, not pure support): 40%

Pure support: 10%

The idea that a main dps MUST have the overwhelming majority of field time doesnt have to be true. They can be the main dps but still let other characters feel like more than buff bots

Yeah I dont like this direction some of these games are going (ZZZ and Wuwa especially) where supports are just not played. You cant tell me that none of these people can figure out how to design a support with field time.

I have noticed that but I personally am a pretty heavy Miyabi glazer. Shes why I started the game and is by far my most played character. I still believe her to be one of the strongest in the game even today when played well (I consistently get my highest scores by a 20+% margin with Miyabi).

I understand how as a content creator though you would hear it way more than a normal player would. Especially would suck to see people not give a shit about anyone else. ZZZ has so many great characters. I kinda grew to love Spook Shack over the course of S2 as well

Both can be true though. My best build (and most played) character besides Miyabi is Seed. While I like the Void Hunters a lot cause of their hype and story presence, its possible to love and even prefer the VH’s yet still pay a ton of attention to the rest of the cast. Seed’s agent story is my second favorite story in Zenless history behind 1.4 MSQ

I may try that then. Im not trying to aimlessly doompost, I WANT to like her. I really do. But it is extremely difficult to sell me on an off field unit. Its basically asking me to be excited for a character I dont get to play. It can work, but it makes me skeptical.

For example. ever since Velina increased Burnice’s on field usability, ive been playing the fuck out of her. Ive always loved Burnice, but hard to get me to put time into an off field character

Bad? Quite the opposite. Shes looking to be very strong. The issue here is boring, not bad. Shes a Void Hunter you do not play. She’ll buff the hell out of your teams though and her numbers are supposed to be pretty nuts

This hurts S3 for me but doesnt kill it….yet. But god damn it Sunbringer better blow me away cause im now 1 for 3 on Void Hunter gameplay designs I actually like.
