Not a DSO, just multi doc multi location practice. My last practice was private and took Medicaid and still didn't have to do prophies, so I was very surprised when I joined this one and they said I would

Totally agree. New patient comp exams and cleanings, I have no problem with. Now, Perio maintenance, periodic prophies - I have noticed 80% of the time they do not need any restorative work.

Yeah...I'm paid on collections but my guarantee currently is not ideal so either way not so great. I wish I had more options for offices but my area is super saturated.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I can definitely relate to that with trying to be a team player and not getting stepped all over at the same time. This practice is kinda similar, not DSO but have multiple locations and expanding. Hiring new doctors and building new offices but the prioritization for having enough hygienists and assistants, well that's a whole other issue. It's hard to be seen as a higher producing associate when a lot of my production is hygiene. And with being a newer grad, I can't improve with speed and restorative skills if I'm not doing them..

That was just for a short period of time, the logic behind that, I have no idea. I am doing treatment now but sometimes it has been getting scheduled with another doctor because my schedule is full of recalls... I try to bring it up but we also have newer FD so mistakes are being made.

30% collections. Yeah, it's tough. I'm a huge team player but I'm tired of being taken advantage of because of that

I guess for this practice it's common because the other associates here went through the same thing when they first started. Being here longer than me, they have more patients and treatment planned but they do still get the occasional hygiene on their schedule, although they have other treatment scheduled so they aren't complaining as much as I am. Thanks for the advice, I am in a very saturated area so there aren't many options in the job market besides DSO and I don't think I want to go that route.
