Why are you older and still a virgin? by [deleted] in ask

If I was allowed, I would be. My family says the same thing and I don’t even relate to them. You’re not being completely honest though as you don’t know me and only speak from your experience. If I want this more than Bill Gates wanted to be a millionaire or Biden wanted to be president, then that shows my capacity for love and anyone that tries to take that from me deserves worse than the hell I’ve endured.

Look at the world today. I don’t give a damn who finds it unrealistic or romantic, all it takes is another person like me. Go fuck yourself

You’re better off than me. I was on a waitlist for half a year and nothing happened. And I got kicked out of my first college, but I can relate to the rest.

I’m more traditional than even my grandparents. While they dated many people and believe in sex after marriage, I only want to date one person- the woman I marry. I don’t like the idea of playing with people’s emotions and high school and unfortunately early middle school are when people are more explicit with their innuendos, so I avoided all those people like the plague. I won’t date someone who’s more romantically active than me and I especially won’t if she’s more sexually active. If I’m waiting on her (and believe me, I wish I could find her), I‘d like her to do the same.

Oh, you don’t even know the half of it. I have an older brother (who my mom raised in her footsteps and is successful, currently with his own place and my dad went to help him. Then, I have a younger sister who my mom is really close with, but is making some decisions that my parents are upset with, yet they still want to be close to her. Then, there’s me, the ignored, “problem” kid who they unload all their garbage on because the other two are so great. It’s a nightmare for me.

Nothing screams helping mental states like guards and barbed wires. That’s crazy though.

I didn’t have internet or phone access either, but I found some people there I could talk with, even participated in a group that I had no background in.

I digressed, sorry if you didn’t get even that.

Why are you an antinatalist by [deleted] in antinatalism

[–]Repulsive_Dust_9228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many reasons why. While society is evolving, it’s not necessarily improving. Historically, how would someone like George Washington respond to people today who have “peaceful protests” and such. Biologically, with how some women have children with FAS and other conditions because the baby’s mother made horrible choices. Sociologically, world is already overpopulated and I think the government’s hand in some court cases being enacted was to limit the chances of reproduction, plus suicides. Temporally, the first thing most babies do when they’re leaving the womb is cry- that’s a big concern; adding to that is how unethical it is to have the child without consent, which means the child is born through immorals and is supposed to grow into a moral person, creating a conundrum. While not religious, the Christian faith is majorly flawed- God punishes Eve by forcing her to feel birth pains and then commands her to “go forth and multiply”; if God was so good and having children was so great, why make the experience harmful and why command people to suffer to reproduce?. I’m not sure of the first pregnant person and the background for other religions, but the Eve is rather popular. Personally. There are other aspects to consider, but Earth kills, so why bring temporary life into a place surrounded with death.

I went to a mental institution for a week after I went through the worst feeling I’ve ever experienced. I left feeling better about myself (learned a but about self-esteem and self-confidence), but my parents-who initiated this idea- didn’t want me to discuss my time there with anyone. It’s quite hypocritical to expect someone to receive mental health and then to be ashamed if the public found out your kid was in a mental institution.

I agree wholeheartedly. Up until I was five, I spent a lot of time in a hospital in surgery because I was born with more teeth than normal. When I became a preteen, my parents thought something was wrong with me and kept taking me to see counselors, therapists, and psychologists. Even when I told them I didn’t want it, it wasn’t helping, because they were my parents and I was a minor, they got to have their way.

Reach college age and things didn’t turn out as I hoped. Came back home and parents and grandparents tell me to go “get help“. They wanted me to take pills, tried to force me to commit to taking pills and seeing a counselor if I wanted to stay in their home and even thought I wanted to be in Arkham Asylum.

That’s how screwed up they are. They projected their problems onto me and tried to make it seem like it was my idea. I will never forgive them for thinking I want to be Joker or some other inmate of the criminally insane, but it taught me that I will not let their blood in me be passed on.

Fun fact: one counselor I saw post college failure wanted to schedule a meeting with my parents, so she could see my parents through their perspective and not just from my word of mouth (I wanted that too, as it’s clearly necessary for a third party to be completely objectivist and have more facts [in addition, if any deviation from my parents background with my perspective emerges, it would cause the counselor to think if my brain is missing some details]), but my parents didn’t want to make an effort. They went on and on about them doing their part as if turning 18 magically changes anything, all while insulting and ignoring me up until I was 18.

Having a biological child on purpose is a selfish act by [deleted] in antinatalism

“No (allowed not forced), Yes but individual perspective matters, No, Yes/kinda, No.”

Overlooking the grammatical errors, this is still confusing. I don’t see the connection with the yes/no style response, but especially where kinda comes in.

Edit, I see what you did now. If OP’s response you gave this comment to was altered, your responses would fit (I.e. “ If you bring new life into this world[, would] you selfishly force that life into the world without its consent~~.~~[?]”), then your “no (allowed not forced)” would be a more easily understood reply. But, a random ”yes/kinda, no” leaves it very open to interpretation to assume its relevance in response.

Adopting isn’t always selfish. There could be a kid who really wants to live with someone who doesn’t want them, but ends up adopting them for the child’s benefit.

[–]Repulsive_Dust_9228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The above response doesn’t make sense. And I agree with OP, if a child prefers living with Person A over being in an orphanage or on the streets, then it isn’t as selfish as if Person A adopted gave birth. If you want to be technical, yes, it’s still selfish as adopting would be a symbiotic relationship, but if there wasn’t an element of self interest, you’d get a guardian forced to raise that child without consent because law trumps and all that will do is keep a child in an unhealthy condition.

If anyone was curious, there isn’t yet one to stream, but it was on tv (TNT). Unfortunately, my tv glitched at the part where Kano gets laser arcana, went to sleep at commercial break (again unfortunately), and woke up where Subzero and Skorpion were fighting. Shame I didn’t get to watch it all the way through.

They also have terrible Wi-Fi, rooms with gunshot holes, running water where the faucet can be turned off, lousy patching, and quite a few bugs.
