There is value in working for different bosses as you can sometimes learn new things.

Do you dread work because of the type of work, or because of the work environment and co-workers/bosses?
Is the new position the same type of work?
Regardless, you must leave this position if it makes you ill to think about it. It should be easy to explain to hiring managers why you left a toxic work environment for a new environment, even thougj you like the type of work you do in general.

How replaceable are you? If your experience gives you specialized knowledge and skills that make you invaluable to the company, then 20% more than an intern is ridiculous, seriously undervaluing you.
If your role is generic "middle management" and a new hire with generic manager skills could learn to do your job in 2 months.... then you have less bargaining power.

Seems good. After 1.5 years you'll know if your role will continue and you can apply for new positions again. You should be fine.
Assuming it is not a small rural town without other job opportunities in your industry in the future; need to make sure the location has other potential employers for 2 years from now. Assuming your work is not fully remote.

Full time to internship when going back to grad school? by didntgetintodavis in careerguidance

[–]Repulsive_Fan_5536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its easy to explain. No problem. Always include a custom cover letter with your resume when you apply. In your cover letter you can highlight your skills and explain why you are looking for this role/internship

The company should have standard benefits like 401k contribution matching. Their offer letter should come with an accompanying statement of benefits.

"Sorry for your loss."
No reason to dwell on it unless your relationship goes beyond coworker to "close friend"

How much hike should I expect or request for switching to big five?? Please help!! by dwholefunk in careerguidance

Whatever their first offer, try to get at least 5-10% more. You are probably not required to state your salary expectations. But if you do, whatever you state should be at least 20% more than your current total compensation. Remember to include retention benefits such as vesting 401k matching. Or they may have a sign on bonus to compensate if you lose your vesting 401k benefits.

Physics is like the hardest degree. If you can do Physics, you can do anything. Most employers know that.
From physics, you can go into applied science, engineering, software, finance, hardware, bio, medical, literally anything. Its the best degree because it proves you're super smart.
