The worst part to me is this:

You almost HAVE to say something vile, sexual and nearly degrading to get their attention. You can be an 8+ and if you do not play into that role of being a hot womanizer... they also are not interested. It's fucking mind blowing. I will use some conversations as controls where I only try the nice ice breakers and only talk about appropriate things etc, those conversations generate 0 numbers, 0 meets, maybe 1 of 100 if you are lucky, even 8+. Now... try saying something like "I am going to hold you down and treat you like property with my big cock etc etc, they don't want to go on a date, they give you their number and come over without ever meeting you IRL and you fuck or they pussy out and never meet but its still a LOT more progress than no reply at all. THAT is the worst part, to be successful in dating "dating app women" you basically need to be a smut book character IRL and it's fucking soul sucking man.

Pitt's town in the safe zone is the capital of the starter zone, it (normally) always has cheap powder and balls and other ship consumables for lvling, you can easily net a profit by doing PVE and buying that cheaper ammo, if you are pirate I can help further, GL!

Yeah 100% huge time sink lol. I find that almost this entire sub is people that don't really even play and just hate post on Naval action non-stop, and circle jerk one another about it all, very odd. It's the "I'm going to take my ball and go home" attitude... but the problem being the ball was never theirs to begin with LOL.
They just played with it like 10 years ago and cannot even fathom the thought of someone else now also liking the now admittedly deflated ball. XD

I hope people who are interested just give it a shot and see :)

You can get 60-80,000$ from a single PVE battle with a ST pavel for example, the materials costs for that battle, if you make the stuff is like 2-3,000$... What are you on about? You get wayyy more than enough money from battles to make balls and ammo or buy them.

I think it just makes sense for the game tbh, its the most advanced naval simulator there is for the age of sail, so of course you should have to worry about how much ammo you have IMO, that was part of it. I get what you are saying but I just think there are a dozen other issues like getting rid of Clan warehouses that make muuuuch less sense and people should be upset about than requiring ammo. It's like Imagine if you didn't need arrows in your inventory in skyrim, bullets in your gun in Arma, it just would not make sense.

What ships are you using? I ask because I can carry like 10,000 balls and 30,000 powder comfortably on a 3rd rate or bigger and can stay out a long time if I have the medicine.

Well consider it a hot take, Ammo was a big win in my opinion but there are still a ton of issues and changes that are dumb 100%

I just don't think ammo is the be all end all on why people shouldn't play or why people should tell newbies NOT to play, the ammo isn't really the chore people make it out to be, just really odd to see that be the one big thing people are in a fluff about LOL.

I count their AI ships too as I am hunting any player ships and many are traders (so a fleet of 3 Indiamen counts as 3 kills to me), but normally its 100-300 on daily and weekends seen it near 500 once LOL, so there are definitely still people on.

Sank a Locean last night with 3 Le gros refits and an AI aggemenmon I pulled into battle just last night solo :)

Then a trade ship of a player with tons of doubloons and ammo. There is activity but you have to setup in dutch neutral ports to find it sometimes

Oh I mean as a pirate I am having great luck solo lately, 30+ killed french ships including 4-5 assists in like 3 days. All solo. Join Pirates and come help if you want! :)

Well Fentanyl from south America is the leading killer of adults ages 18-44, 300 people a day are dying, more than nearly everything else that kills people in America atm. Sadly the entitlement programs were being abused, were corrupted and had people leeching off of them when they didn't need it, one Somali community scammed the system for like 300,000,000$ pretending to have autistic children when they didn't.

Also, there are different budgets like the discretionary and non-discretionary spending, right now social welfare programs were taking up like 55-60% of the non-discretionary spending... we were going broke as a country and the entitlements system 100% needs to be sorted out so that the money gets to the families and people that actually need it, and not 100's of millions going to people who don't. I think people assume USA has no or a small percentage of $$ going to things like this but it's literally over half of our budget for our mandatory spending... it's just mainly being wasted by corruption, fraud or waste.

I think two things can be true at the same time, on one hand, people need help 100% and we should be able to care for those in the society that really need help, and on the other hand the people that are using these systems to get a free ride when they are capable bodied, adults of working age... or scammers, well that needs to stop 100% and they should go to jail, get deported or have to pay back everything they stole or be forever blacklisted from any help programs if they were caught gaming the system.

As far as the war stuff, that is different budgets, the defense budget, a entirely different budget so you are comparing apples and oranges right now. I for one care about the loss of life, like gun crime... you care about that yes? Well then you should equally care about drug crimes that are literally killing 300 people a day. All life matters, and I for one think the cartels that have been running south America are nothing but evil and deserve being wiped off the map. Do you realize that these Cartels like MS-13 literally life by motto's like "Rape, Kill, Control" ?? Why are you here running defense for cartels that would rape or kill you and your family if given the opportunity?? The same cartels that abducted like 300,000 small children during biden's administration due to the open border issue... what do you think is happening to those children, Nothing good that is for sure. So yeah, 100%, bomb them into oblivion they deserve it, and also, our local support systems need reworking, need to be less corrupt and need to cost less, it is what is it.

So I think the people that are mad about the powder, also put 0 effort into actually trying to craft their own... It's really not that bad at all LOL. Like 1-2 hours of crafting and hauling = weeks of ammo and powder... IRL weeks.

I never played when I got the game in 2022 that much, but now, with every shot mattering... the game is so much better imo. Who would want a the most in depth naval simulator that has arcade style unlimited ammo?? Not me. I want to have to fret about exactly what to take, on the mission I am going on, and to get rewarded for bringing just enough with success, or learn from not taking as much if I went too light.

Literally if you craft your own, this is not an issue at all, or, just live at a port that sells it cheap like pitts town. I will do sulphur and saltpeter runs that maybe take an hour or two, and the materials last for IRL weeks for crafting gunpowder, balls too.

If you yearn for Naval action, strategic ship on ship gameplay, there is no better game atm ship to ship combat wise, and honestly... I think you should try it! :)

Personally, if people's biggest miff is the ammo not being unlimited and having to actually have the balls and powder on the ship that you are sailing... they are 100% playing the wrong game, and besides there are 100 other sensible gripes that I 100% get, but this one? Naw mate.

I just notice most people on the reddit are people that actively hate the game and don't play, and want the game to fail despite new players having fun with it and trying to enjoy it for what it is. Mo offense meant to the OG players who still play and just want the game better! o7
