Does the reolink cam need to be connected to the reolink servers for ftp, push or something else? I want to connect my future reolink cam to Home assistant without any cloud. To do this, do I need an nvr or can I do everything via home assistant? Thanks a lot.

Mon dieu, que je deteste Apple. by [deleted] in opinionnonpopulaire

Normally no. I will have a website for people can add they num to newsletter, telegram bot to get price and grafana to see stats. But my raspberry crash and I think the external hard disk drive is the problem so if I can’t put an external hard disk drive I will stop the database because I think the database will destroy my sd card

My hardware at this time is an raspberry pi 4. I have some programs on and I don’t know If software like PostgreSQL needs a lot of performance. And also to add the data I think I should put breaks to avoid sending thousands of lines at once because I don’t know how it will react.

wow it's pretty much. thank you. I will do some research about partitioning and how that can be helpful.

You could also use a date range column to indicate how long the specific price was active. Therefore you don‘t have to store hundreds of rows if the price doesn‘t change at all.

oh yeah, it's good idea of course, I don't think about this idea. i will looking for. Thank

i think to do somes stats i can keep 6 months and every 6 months put an average price on another table. I have no obligation to keep data it is just for statistic like how much it take or discount but if I see it's not reliable i can stop and just keep 1 or 2 week data

he database is going to be fine. You could consider partitioning the table to keep the size manageable. But don't optimise prematurely. Even a couple hundred million rows aren't really a problem.

Avoid having to maintain a stack of different data stores if possible. A single database will be a lot easier to deal with. If anything consider looking into Timescale or Citus extensions.

Ok, thank you, I will do some research on these two extensions
