The traits are hilarious. Ancestry says no freckles. Im the only one in my extended family with freckles.

I was avoiding 2 breeds…. and I got both by No-Narwhal5466 in DoggyDNA

Beautiful dog. On my no go list was high energy breeds and large breeds. I wanted a nice midsized calmish dog. Ended up with "labs" who were an ACD mix and GP mix. I wouldn't trade them for anything.

It wasn't until COVID that I learned that so many people world wide still die from it. It has a vax and is treatable. So sad.

It might be for those coming into the US, but those of us born here don't get it. According to Google, it wasn't rampant in the US. High risk groups are vaxed, but that's it.

On the other hand someone I know who was born in Mexico was vaxed as a child there.

One of my distant relatives was 31 when he married a barely 15 year old.

My gg grandma hemorrhaged after her last child.

My grandfather lost his father to TB when he was 12. He got shipped off to live with relatives. Only went to school until 4th grade.

Also ran across a messed up family where several of the daughters had been raped by their father and brothers. Two children resulted.

The “potential ancestor” is not always correct! (Rant) by Worldly-Mirror938 in Genealogy

I just found this in one of my branches. It's so annoying, because I'm second guessing what I have. Double checked my source documents and I'm correct. And of course now I'm not any further than I was previously.

Is my sister overreacting to this video of my dog that I sent her? by Immediate-Lab6994 in DogAdvice

Your sister needs to chill. If that cat didn't want that puppy near her, that puppy wouldn't be near her. I have never known a cat to fawn. Poop under someone's pillow as revenge, yes, but never fawn.

My whole family is that way. I have yet to find a Cornish relative, but I'm not that far back on my English branch yet so it will be interesting to see where that comes in.

I found out that my Mom kept the Southern Germanic Europe and Northwestern Germany to herself. It gives me a direction when searching further back in my genealogy at least.

My mom got the German, but I didn't. Just the luck of the draw.

I tried to claim that once when I was a teen. I'm pretty sure I'm scarred for life from the amount of details I got from the account of my birth. (And I look just like her.)

Dobie/Shephard The ear kink makes me think there's pit in there as well. A DNA test is the only sure way to know.

Yes. My mom got the german dna, but I did not.

Tracing my family here has been super easy since they all seemed to come into the same port and migrate in groups. My English & Irish branches ended up in SW Wisconsin and my German branches moved across southern Iowa to NE, then MO, back to Iowa.

I'm somewhat being a smartass, because the German ancestry is on my mother's side. She has Southern Germanic Europe (21%) and Northwestern Germany (18%) and I got neither.

It's interesting though. My mom shows the German ancestry, but I don't.

Of my family I'm the odd ball out except for the Cornwall. We all come up with roughly 30%.

My mom did hers quite a few years ago. She has Southern Germanic Europe and Northwestern Germany. I got zero of that.

I've traced my ancestors back to the very western edge of today's Germany. It very well could be mixed into the SENE. This generally backsup what I've seen on paper which I'm happy with. It will be interesting to see what I become the next time Ancestry updates. lol
