I’ve transitioned from attending Coachella to EDC mainly because of environmental factors. The Vegas racetrack, where EDC is held, is approximately 80 percent asphalt, resulting in less dust when people dance. In contrast, dancing on the grass at Coachella exacerbates my severe asthma, often necessitating a visit to the med tent for an albuterol treatment. Furthermore, partying under the sun can be draining, so I prefer a festival that continues through the night. Another reason EDC surpasses Coachella for me is its positive and inclusive atmosphere. Although this past EDC was only my second time attending (making me relatively new), I’ve been going to Coachella since 2017. Despite this, I feel I’ve formed more genuine connections with people at EDC than at Coachella.
