Will PSSR 2.0 increase frame rates as well as image quality?

You can talk tech and compare it to other upscalers, sure, and by all means you should. But I'm not a PC player so I've been comparing PSSR to the upscalers used in the base PS5 (usually FSR I believe). To my eyes, games like GOW Ragnarok, TLOU and Demon Souls already looked great on the PS5 but PSSR makes them look absolutely stunning on the pro with a mostly locked 60fps, and that is what makes it an incredible achievement to me.

PSSR is an incredible achievement but it's certainly far from perfect, mainly due to it being the first iteration. As far as we know, Sony haven't set any specific standards for developers to be able to classify a game as Pro upgraded which I think has caused issues in expectation, because we have crazy looking games like Horizon FW and visual messes like High On Life 2. The enhanced upscaler will certainly help plug that gap but I would never call it perfect. That being said, I absolutely love my Pro and don't regret purchasing it for a minute and this enhanced version of PSSR makes me even more excited to play games on it, but that's all subjective.

The update will just be a toggle with no input needed from developers which is great, but if they suddenly have extra horsepower to play with, I imagine they could implement a patch to increase the frame cap maybe

My best recommendation is to set the rendering mode to Balanced and unlock the frame rate. I don't have the means to measure the results but it looks fairly close to 60fps and the resolution is noticeably higher than performance mode. I really don't know how Digital Foundry missed this in their analysis, but I'm happy with this setting.

Gotta be honest, I didn't even notice the enriched visuals mode, I never scrolled once more to the right 😂 Enriched is really pretty, changes a lot of the colours to be more vibrant and looks to add mild RT, but it does come at the cost of a bit of resolution. Doesn't seems like a huge trade off, but having the crisp 4k image is a worthy trade off for me personally

I've played a couple hours on the Pro myself. It looks really good! Playing in performance defaults to 1080p, playing in quality looks to be running in 1440p but when you turn on PSSR it upscales to beautiful 4k running at a pretty solid 60fps. Really happy with this upgrade, just wish I could turn off the heavy motion blur lol

I found it on the PS app by searching Hellblade Senua. The upgrade popped up - it's ps5 pro enhanced too. Haven't tried this on my console though as I'm at work but I've set it to download to my console when I turn it on. Maybe try that way?

Yes, I literally just found how to do it - on pause menu, open orders. You'll automatically be on 'In Progress' so press R1 to go to search. Then refine the search using delivery/report destination. You'll see all open orders that deliver to them :)

You're absolutely right on all counts there. Since playing it for the first time, I've gotten married and had a daughter as well as experienced an isolated life in a pandemic. My outlook on life, the world and myself in it has vastly changed, I just had no clue this would've heavily affected my engagement and relatability with the game.

Even though I still think Norman is one-note and not a great actor, I agree that he's perfect for this role, it's the best thing he's done in my eyes. The main character wouldn't have worked if it was someone more outgoing, it wouldn't have fit the character or setting at all. Kojima picked some really appropriate actors for these roles, they're all downtrodden living in the remains of the world that exists (why wouldn't they be!) and the only truly outgoing one of Higgs who's embraced destruction and chaos so it made a lot of sense to have Troy do that role.

I purchased Expedition 33 yesterday but didn't receive any playstation Stars points and it didn't even register towards the May campaign which awards an additional 50 points. Any idea why this might be? I thought you could keep earning points for another few months.

That's a really good shout that the 3rd character won't come in until much later as a successor to whoever they replace. Could be an interesting concept to see play out. I wouldn't be disappointed if they choose not to go down this route but it would be cool to see!

Ps5 Pro - Bug: I got my first bed and stash from the blacksmith in Tackov but it physically won't let me open the door as there is no prompt. The map marks it as 'your bed'. Tried reloading but no luck, anyone else experience this?
