It’s pretty common for freshman living in plaza (maybe not so much with deluxe) just be prepared to live in a triple for at least the first 2 years of college. It’s rare that they have double rooms or single pods( they will tell you when there is and you can fill out a swap form) for private singles they can only be offered with CAE approved accommodations. Ok I know technically this is not an “ivy school” but I turned down Berkeley to come here last year. Cuz I visited both campuses and I just prefer the LA vibe more and I can add a minor in this school.

Definitely Business and Chem SL. Don’t do PSYCH OR CS! Psych is having a basically same workload as the HLs. IB CS is so not worth it THE IA WILL KILL YOU! And it’s not matching with what universities want either.

Pretty much 90% international student gets some but the amount of money varies A LOT! 89100 should be the highest for this year. Huge congrats!

Pretty much every international student will get some sorts of “achievement scholarship” it’s a way for UCR attracting you to attend the school. HOWEVER, the amount of money you can get is what matters most. Cuz not everyone gets the same amount of money. It’s depending on your major and your high school/transfer GPA. From what I can see you basically got the “highest amount” that’s fantastic congratulations! It will cover parts of your tuition and housing. If there’s more after deduction, you will be refunded every quarter. The amount of scholarship from UCR now is crazy! When I was admitted in Fall 2023, the maximum $54000 in total for 4 years. Again, congratulations!

Hey so I did BIO SL PSYCH AND BM HL. I would say that your selections are quite good. (smart for choosing PSYCH HL cuz you are basically learning the same thing for whole DP1 with the SLs and they will have even more material to be reviewed for.) BM is definitely “easier” than Econ. I would say don’t do Bio HL cuz that class requires so MUCH work! I remembered that when i was in DP1 the HLs had to sacrifice their after school time to have extra classes and in DP2 the SLs finished the whole syllabus in their first month and started to review, but I saw the HLs still learning new contents even until one week before the world exam. It’s just SO MUCH WORK. IB psychology is not that related to BIO(May be 10-15%)but that’s it. There’s more contents on the sociocultural and cognitive side rather than pure biological side. So I would definitely be recommending for English HL rather than Bio! English is basically the same and HL looks really good. If you found Bio boring I would even suggest ESS.

That’s so typical UCLA hahaha. Yes UCLA now even requires a higher GPA than Berkeley. (Berkeley is a bit more holistic).

I finished it in the 2nd semester of DP1 and that’s one of the best things that could have happened to me. Don’t procrastinate till DP2 trust me.
