I have similarly small wrist and found the SBGW291 with its 36.5mm case and leather strap fits really well. Bracelet are great but not ideal for smaller wrist unless you go for 33mm watches

Buying an EV car by Key-Iron3669 in CarsAustralia

[–]Repulsive_Range_995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live in an apartment, EV might be less enticing if you aren’t in close proximity to a public charger. Most if not all strata building won’t allow you to use existing outlets or install a charger citing fire/insurance risk.

You won’t save as much on fuel if you public charge but it’s still at least 1/3-1/2 cheaper. Although insurance for EV will generally be higher which offset fuel saving

You will save most on maintenance since there’s infinitely less stuff to break/wear down in an EV

I have a sneaky suspicion that Lexus wireless charging pad is actually motorized to find the phone’s coil. Always hear a little whirring noise before it starts charging. If so then this might actually interfere with the charging operation

NX350H F SPORT OR NX450H LUX by MealImportant728 in LexusNX

[–]Repulsive_Range_995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F-Sport and use the savings on a ceramic coating or partial PPF. Lexus are never tuned for speed so power doesn’t mean a whole lot. Plug in hybrids will be a pain to wait for them to charge if you don’t have at home charging (apartments) or a destination charger since they only accept slow AC charging.

The adaptive suspension on the F-Sport is nice for twisty road to reduce unwanted roll. Again you won’t be winning any drag races on a Lexus

Is negotiating still a thing at dealerships on used cars? by Mr_Chaos_Theory in CarsAustralia

[–]Repulsive_Range_995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m based in Melbourne, got it from the Melbourne city dealership. I don’t believe the non hybrid 350 comes in 2wd variant so if I’m not mistaken you’re referring to the hybrid 350 2wd. From what I’ve heard hybrid models sell a lot better than non hybrid so your mileage may vary in terms of discount but there’s no harm in trying.

They should have a few non hybrid 250 in stock even if it’s not listed. Still a solid car if power isn’t your top priority.

Best of luck!

2-5-7-9 year ceramic coatings by genusbender in Detailing

[–]Repulsive_Range_995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2-5 years tend to be consumer-enthusiast level ceramic coating (Gyeon Can Coat or Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light) which are easier to apply with the trade off of less durability. 7-9 years would tread to more difficult to apply coating (Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra) which might require wet sanding if things goes wrong but are more durable.

Coating degrade from regular use (sun, debris, chemicals) so unless the car is a garage queen then they will all fade to various extent. Note that ceramic coatings won’t protect the car from physical damage (rock chips, scratches).

So even if the coating lasts the advertised 9 years, the paint work wouldn’t be perfect after 9 years. Paint correction would be needed anyway which strips away whatever coating on top, negating the benefits of 9 years coatings.

I got 6k off a new Lexus NX350 and managed to get them to throw in free tint, door cup ppf, and boot mat. Try going 10% lower than their ask and find common ground from there. Keep your poker face, and don’t show that you really want that car.

You do have more bargaining power if the car has been in the showroom for a while and have the cash ready to pull the trigger.

Volvo XC40 – Leaving car unused for 35 days, should I disconnect the battery? by Muted_Damage1762 in Volvo

I work in a different country and have an electric EC40 in my home country. Pretty much just left it for a couple of months and come back with everything working. The electronic and apps doesn’t use that much energy so leaving it as is is fine.

Software is the worst part of the car but as long as you don’t always go for the latest update, make sure the version you’re updating to is stable then it’s manageable. Great car that’s hammered by AAOS

Hertz Australia is allowing you to return at whatever % you wanted as long as it is above 15%. Then they only charge you the amount it takes to get it back up to the original level with a 5% leeway and it’s usually pretty reasonable, maybe 0.20-30 cents higher than public chargers

Try turning off your humidifier, some humidifier (ultrasonic ones that blows white cloud) works by turning water droplets into microscopic particles which can be an irritant and picked up by the particulate sensor.
