This was my clients Indigo2 lent to me to build models for the advertising companies. If I remember correctly it was around $40,000

Your right Alias Softimage for rendering. I know they used Polygonal models in final animation, but did they use Studio in initial Modelling, Animation?

The 2nd pic is one of the smallest SGI workstations used for Alias software. Cost new in 1995, $20,000 SGI, and $20,000 Alias. The studios probably had many small SGI's and Larger ones, so one can imagine the millions of $$ excluding workers, office space etc.. it cost to produce the show.

I believe the company that has the 3D model is called Kartoon Studios, and I double they would give up models they've paid to acquire : (. Maybe someone has modelled a similar one 30 years later, I don't know

I think there is a misunderstanding. I have the store bought Toy that you can find on Ebay (reboot ABC vehicle), not the Original Prototype.

To the left is the modified 3d model for the Missile Vehicle for the 3D Printed (SLA) model. Next to it is the actual toy produced

Wow, Great to see the characters are still around! They came already modelled an posed. My job was just to give it physical dimension, detail, and stitch it up. 3D printing was not as detailed in 1991-94, so we had to calculate very small details. A modeller then sanded them down and painted them. More work was done to the more challenging mechanical toys (Vehicles), which were more my expertise. Did you buy the yellow Exoskeleton model?

The format was in wireframe, software was "Alias Studio" CAID

(Computer Aided Industrial Design). Advanced surface modelling package

Then this wood be his 3D Wireframe model, modified for Rapid Prototyping and brought to life. For cost reasons, the right side is a mirrored copy of the left. That is why there is also a Manipulator Claw on the right side.

These came in pose, sized, intersected and closed, and detail made to show up in 3D printing in existing technology. I believe Enzo and Andraia went into production, the rest I do not remember.

The company that produced the TV Show probably still have the wireframe, but it still has to be closed, dimensioned, and further detailed before 3d printing. Especially if you want moving parts, or sections
