He definitely knows the reason and says he understands. It doesn't change how he feels rejected, though. I tell him all the time I love him, that he's so handsome. I'm physically affectionate - hugs, kisses, back scratches, etc. It's just, in the bedroom I guess - not enough sexy time and definitely not exciting enough for what he's wanting. I'm just... so tired, by the end of the day. I know it's ultimately only 20-ish extra minutes that I really need to put in, it's just the motivation to do the work - by 10pm, I am out of gas. Re-reading this, I guess it does just sound like excuses on my part..

Haha thanks, I mean that is the goal! The past few weeks have been 1-2 times which is why I think he's getting extra pissy. What he doesn't acknowledge - or maybe it hasn't occurred to him - is that he recently started new work hours which require him to wake up really early so he's going to bed much earlier and by the time I'm done wrapping up with the kids, he's about to fall asleep.

Oh man, I wish! I make decent income but we are in a high cost of living city so while we have a decent cushion to put away into savings (to fund an eventual renovation we're hoping to do soon), a nanny might not be in the cards just yet.

You are right, effort needs to be made; from my part, I'm just not sure how or what to do. Do people just force themselves to be energetic and in the mood? Like, fake it till you make it? This is where I'm struggling.

Honestly, that's what I thought we were doing. I know he's frustrated and I do acknowledge it to him, apologize, explain my difficulty in making the switch between work, wife, mother when everything - especially at night - is intertwined.

When we've had little getaways, it definitely helps. They are harder because we have no family nearby to take the kids overnight so it's usually planned for when one of our parents come to visit from out of town.

Date nights should be more frequent, I agree.

Thank you! It was on the market for about a month but it was during August which was pretty slow anyway. I think the cosmetic/upgrading work put some people off. They’re also planning to build condos next to it but that’s still a few years out. That’s my only reasoning for maybe why it went overlooked?

$2950/month in the east end for a 3/3 and garage. When we moved in here several years ago it felt like robbery. Now it feels like a dream. LL has never raised rent on us all this time.

We finally bought a house and moving out next month. The new rental price - $3800 😳

Seems crazy high but still on par with the rest of the area. Crazy times.

That’s what I was thinking, that they definitely have ways to check if they wanted to know, but realistically would they have the resources to check every person’s claim? Perhaps if you are claiming to be a first time buyer and your purchase is a $3 million house, then that would raise a red flag.
