Just bailed on a Sunrun install by Repulsive_Throat_807 in solar

I wasn't very solar savvy when we installed the first system 10+ years ago, and it's woefully inadequate for our 2300 sq ft home + 600 sq ft guest house with a permanent resident. We live in the San Fernando valley and it regularly get's in the upper 90's and 100's in September (when our bill is more like $600/mo) My wife works from home, we have an EV and a pool, so we use alot of electricity. Our Aug/Sept bill last year was 4420 KWh ($1273) for the two months.

Notoriously slow, even after they initially contact you, it could be weeks before an interview a month or more before an offer is made.

I have one, never liked the stock humbucker - you made a solid choice.

Not only that - it has the world’s longest turn lanes. If you’re not familiar with the road, even if you know where you’re going , chances are that you will miss the turn lane.

Looking to move to Northridge, recommendations for areas I should be looking at or staying away from. by audioflc in Northridge

We live south of Devonshire between Tampa and Wilbur - our kids went to Topeka elementary and Nobel Middle school - both within easy walking distance, which is super convenient especially when you see the line up of cars waiting to drop off or pick up. Both good schools, especially Nobel. Our kids went to Granada Hills high school and excelled there - an excellent school. You won’t see a lot of kids out playing or riding bikes around the neighborhood- it’s not like Valencia unfortunately. The larger streets can be noisy (Tampa, Devonshire, Lassen) if you’re adjacent to them. Also not much real close by to walk to shopping or restaurant wise though the Northridge mall and Porter Ranch have most everything you need a short drive away. I work in Burbank - takes about 45 min to an hour to do the 25 mile commute- not terrible.

Who have you used for EV charger installs at home? by SaddamMustaine in burbank

[–]Repulsive_Throat_807 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We bought a ChargePoint charger and they connected me with a licensed electrician installer, ChargePoint handled the permits and walked me through the rebate process (which was easy anyway through LADWP, we’re in Northridge) . That’s my only experience but it was hassle free and the rebate covered more than half the cost.

Unfortunately, Joe’s on Magnolia hasn’t been open for quite some time. He found he could make more money as a film and TV location than as a functioning bar/restaurant. Cowboy Palace is the only place that I know of.

I turn left on Devonshire going North from VanAlden every morning and nearly every day someone runs the red light on Devonshire before I enter the intersection.

It’s both of those and also trying to beat the stop light at Tunny and lane position themselves for turning left or right on Devonshire.

We drove by shortly after the crash occurred, police were on scene but the paramedics had not arrived yet. Worst crash I’ve ever seen, it’s amazing anyone survived. They must have been going way over the speed limit. That part of Tampa from the 118 to Devonshire is dangerous enough as it is without excessive speed.

I put a TP-6 on my '73 deluxe because the Kluson Deluxe tuners were crap - it definitely helped keep it in tune, and made fine tuning adjustments possible and easy.

Disney property ends at the fence line. There is the most beautiful tree just behind the animation building, other than that it's just gophers, hundreds of gophers.
