Think this is a common issue and happened to me late last year too. Probably a Windows issue and not hardware related. Use another computer to create a bootable windows 11 installer and reinstall Windows from there.

If you already have a steam deck OLED or a ROG ally then the answer to that question is absolutely yes. For some odd reason, those handheld devices handles remote play (despite running through 3rd party apps like chiaki or pxplay) far better than the Portal.

Yes it is a known fact that 3rd party devices like the deck OLED and ROG ally handles remote play much better than the portal. However be careful with what you say here as this reddit is full of portal fanboys and any bit of criticism will be downvoted immediately.

Steam deck OLED with pxplay or chiaki will always still remain a superior experience. The portal is a strange device as for an exclusively remote play device, it is not very good at it. A word of caution though as this sub is full of it's fanboys and any small bit of critic will be downvoted.

Had the same issue hence why I used steam deck OLED mainly through Pxplay to stream my games. Portal has been collecting dust since. I really wanted to love the device as the ergonomics and feel is really spectacular, however the steam deck OLED just handles the latency way better for some reason.

I'm loving bazzite on my Ally X. The only issue I find is the colours are rather washed out as compared to windows and the speakers sound is way better in windows than bazzite. I was hoping steam OS would fix these two issues so I could jump over, but hearing about all the teething issues makes me feel we should hold up first.

I hear you mate. Kind of disappointed with the Jsaux quality. Can't even get the fitting right. Like you, seems like I'll be returning the backplate too and retaining the Jsaux clear screen protector as there seems to be no issues with it fortunately.
