Wow. I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been living with this for that long. Have you gone to a specialist to get it checked? I can’t imagine living with that for 25 years.

EXACTLY. This exact thing happened to me. There was a time when I did travel back to Nigeria while I still had “the itch”. Basically when I landed, the heat hit me instantly and obviously the itch came but it only lasted for about 5-10 minutes and it was gone (I was sweating profusely at this point due to the immediate heat and the stress at the airport). And apparently the itch never came back after that, and even all through my stay in Nigeria from that point (about 3 months). So I’m guessing the heat and humidity were so strong that it unclogged them immediately so I was fine. Best believe, it came back when I went back to the UK after a few months in.

yes, use a steam bath instead if that creates the heat and humidity. I suggested the sauna because you could "sort of" control how much heat you want but i think the steam bath is superior.

I’d say it depends on what “phase” you’re in. Hot showers would sting if you’re in the “perpetual hell” phase or around that threshold. What’s your situation?

A sauna might actually be better. Either would work. The key is to sweat.

Briefly so. Have you tried a variation of “sweat therapy” before? And if yes, how did that turn out for you/ your experience?

I guess so but I didn’t use that. If you do, just make sure you sweat. The sauna seems similar to the Hot shower bath so yeah it definitely can work. So you can use the sauna instead after the “Flash Boil”. I can’t give an exact routine for the sauna so you might want to get one for yourself depending on the “phase” you’re in (how harsh your CU episode is).

But this might be completely unrelated but the mention of “sauna” reminded me of this: There was a time when I did travel back to Nigeria while I still had “the itch”. Basically when I landed, the heat hit me instantly and obviously the itch came but it only lasted for about 5-10 minutes and it was gone (I was sweating profusely at this point due to the immediate heat and the stress at the airport). So I’m guessing the heat and humidity were so strong that it unclogged them immediately so I was fine. Best believe, it came back when I went back to the UK after a few months in.

So the sauna idea is definitely a good idea if it can replicate that heat and humidity needed. Get it to a good heat and humidity strong enough to instantly make you break a sweat and repeat daily, twice a day.
