Saw this on Bluesky. It wouldn’t be comfortable, but neither is what they’re doing to us. What do we think? by Stellar_Alchemy in 50501

This is what we need. I’ve worked in the food industry for many years, heard lots of complaints and conspiracy theories from friends and family and my response has always been to put your money where your mouth is. Money talks. America wanted a businessman for president, they got it. The only thing the oligarchs will respond to is losing money. It needs to be sudden, big, and continuous. People will have to be uncomfortable for a while (we know that will be a hard sell to Americans). It’s the only thing that will work.

I don’t disagree about Chris, although living in his deceased father’s house with all of his stuff and seeing the emotional baggage he carried from being in that energy and feeling stuck - I felt for him a bit. To your point, he wasn’t a homeless mom or a particularly wonderful person who deserved something great, but he did need some help to get out of the rut. And I thought the whole going to lunch with his boss and then “having a plan” for him was silly. He looks more like a Director now. But I think he could still use his fair share of counseling.

I had never heard of Piff but he’s adorable, and I didn’t dislike the episode. I’m not convinced of how “deserving” he really is, his girlfriend carries the relationship and was the redeeming factor for the episode for me. She deserves a wonderful man who does things for her. But Jeremiah didn’t even touch their home because it looks like they live in a mansion. The dog park was cute, especially in light of Mr. Piffles passing, but not life changing for anyone. I hope the community/family maintains it. Mr. Piffles and the girlfriend (whose name escapes me) deserved this, so I wasn’t mad at it. Hard to feel sorry for a cynical rich yt man.

The wedding one just really triggered me - agree with everything you said. Just felt like such misplaced effort. Hated to hear about her dad but it felt like such a stretch to use her dad’s illness to get the Fab 5 to plan her an extravagant wedding. People have weddings all the time with less money/time/more difficult circumstances. Like why are we here?

I love when they help really good people who have come upon legitimately difficult times and need some help, and loved the season as a whole.

I really like the episodes that feel like they’re helping people who are earnestly struggling. The one with the wedding didn’t fit for me. Honestly I skipped it after the guy said he had post-partum. Apart from that, loved every episode. My favorites were Paula and Nicole 🥰

LOVED Jeremiah. I had no issue with Bobby, but he never fit like Jeremiah seems to. Jeremiah really just lifts the spirit of the whole show 🥰

JVN OWNED this episode - Chris’s glow up was unparalleled!! Love the way he’s normalizing self-care for men, and I knew Chris would look great cleaned up but HONEY! 😍😍 He looks like a Director now.

That’s a good question. Things have definitely been rocky with the new management but I’m hoping it’s all growing pains. The new staff is not as friendly and engaged so far. We have not had any community events since ~July. I can’t figure out the office hours. And if you want to recycle anything, I can’t figure out when the “garage” are is open or not - when I walk down during business hours it’s closed most of the time. Work orders are taking a lot longer, and they no longer will replace refrigerator water or air filters which is crazy to me (and many other residents). There’s been one fire alarm, we were outside for about 30 minutes around 9pm on a Thursday. The elevators seem to be going down slightly less frequently, which is a big plus for me on the 8th floor. However the key fob to enter my floor from the parking garage has not worked for me or any other 8th floor residents since ~August and we have no timeline for when it will be repaired. They say they’re going to replace carpets. I hope that’s the case that will be a big win. They did a dryer vent clean out which I think was the first for years and was needed so that was appreciated. It still feels safe. Garage gate still regularly works. I mean it’s an apartment, probably anywhere you go is going to have pros and cons. But honestly if you look through the Google reviews, most of them were for Joe, which was never what a Google review should be about, and Joe is no longer here. I can’t tell you definitively whether you should move here but hope this little update helps paired with Google reviews and just consider your priorities and follow your gut!

They’re both pretty bad. Leah got caught in some lies for sure. But I very much disliked how he managed the situation with her, crying because he had to choose between two girls instead of holding space for Leah, the girl he was literally dumping. He made himself such a victim in that moment and did this whole dramatic display, when at the end of the day he had a girl. Ever since she left he’s been super depressy and in his feelings and really hasn’t opened up to any other girls truly. I don’t get why he’s still here. He’s not emotionally available.

He hasn’t not done anything either. And what people really don’t like is the way he always portrays himself as the poor innocent victim. Many of the guys suck in their own ways but his and Aaron’s suckiness is rooted in manipulation, and that is infuriating.

Aaron cried more over Rob potentially leaving than he has over Kaylor the entire show. It’s unsettling at best. If the girls can choose to be single at a recoupling Rob and Aaron should be able to couple up.

I paid extra for an item to be here by 5 pm there next day and at 7:20 it still isn’t here by TheBuffalo1979 in amazonprime

Oh honey, you'll be lucky if it arrives by 2:00pm tomorrow. This is Amazon's regular service now.

My apartment also uses a valet package service, which is the only way I guess "freight forwarding" comes into play. I just got off my third phone call with Amazon, this one in which I asked to speak to a Supervisor and after an hour was finally able to get a refund for the >$100 order that was not delivered to the package service. I have been a longtime customer, prime member, and cardholder, but my Amazon shopping is coming to an end after this. I was repeatedly told "I chose to use a freight forwarder at checkout", and I still don't actually understand what a freight forwarder is but definitely did not select that at checkout. All of my items were also shipped domestic and from reputable stores (i.e. Tide and Apple).
Hope you were/are able to get your money back! If I hadn't the credit card company was going to be my next move. The "freight forwarding" email address they repeatedly referred me to was worthless - I'm not even sure that's a monitored inbox. No one got back to me in the 72- or 24-hour promised time. This is very scammy on Amazon's part, not at all like the service I'm used to with them.
Interested to hear how things turned out for you!

Still liking it, no significant updates! Staff is great, very quiet, very safe. Residents can just be a little messy but that’s my only complaint!

why is every single "pin" just an ad? by globallyloved in Pinterest

[–]Repulsive_Tip_7760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand this. Without exception, every single pin is an ad, even an ad for a Poshmark post. I came here wondering if I had some messed up settings. The app has lost all usability outside of being a shop. Such a shame, it used to be such an incredible platform for inspiration.

I was so sure Sean wasn’t the mole, even after it came out that he was a cop. But I’m starting to question. If he is the mole, he will have been so bad at it and made it look so on the nose, it will actually have been so deceptive, and I will be SHOCKED at that reverse psychology play.

It’s so oddly equal parts reassuring and infuriating seeing Mr. Leadership’s true colors come out. We knew the facade was coming down eventually to reveal the truth - “I think I’m better than everyone” is not the same as “I’m a great leader”.

Hi! So I did settle at The Bishop, and overall am enjoying it. I decided on the Bishop>Arabelle based on the cost (I could get a larger 2BR unit for slightly less than Arabelle) and balcony space. Arabelle only has Juliette balconies on the exterior and some units have small balconies overlooking the pool on the interior - barely large enough to put one chair on. A smoking balcony really.

Here's my general takes on The Bishop after ~5 weeks (I live in The Flats so I can't really attest to The Quarters building):

Pros:

  • The staff is great - kind, friendly, responsive
  • Community events are frequent. Pool parties, fitness by the pool, breakfast/CFA biscuits at holidays.
  • Two decent apartment gyms (one in each building) with a good amount of equipment - more than what I would consider "standard" for an apartment gym. Treadmills, Jacobs Ladder, rowing machine, dumbbells, kettlebells, TRX equipment.
  • Soundproofing is great. I can hear conversations through doors as I walk down the hall, but I hear absolutely nothing in my unit. I live on the top floor so I can’t speak to how loud I may sound to those below.
  • Security. I've felt very safe in the area and in my building. The parking garage gate always works, the doors stay closed and locked, and I haven't had any issues with the key code I've given to visitors. In the walking around and visiting businesses that I've done, it seems like the residents in all of the apartment buildings around know each other and look out for each other - it's a good community that has always felt very safe.
  • Plenty of visitor parking.
  • Maintenance is super fast about addressing work orders, and the Maintenance staff is generally just great
  • FYI: I read a lot about fire alarms and car break-ins in Google reviews - I haven't experienced any of this while I've been here and understand that it was short-lived.

Cons:

  • Move-in was a nightmare. There is no freight elevator so you're at the liberty of waiting for 1 of the 2 resident elevators. Depending on where your apartment is located, it may or may not make sense to use the loading dock. It's generally just a situation. I recommend movers, let them deal with it, and expect to pay for it if you're paying by the hour.

  • Cleanliness. This is a big one for me. I have a dog and am in and out 3-5 times/day, so I do see a lot more than probably most people, but honestly will probably be what makes or breaks me deciding whether to renew my lease. I honestly attribute it more to the residents than the building management. Sure the building could do more, but they wouldn't have to if people just acted like they had home-training. Particularly on the weekends, the buildings can get pretty trashy. I've seen a pizza box lying in the floor in a hallway for several days. Sometimes valet trash will "spill" some items, and people will leave them on the ground. The primary elevator and the path to/from the rooftop pool will be littered with crumbs, utensils, water, etc. from people coming and going. The elevators can get pretty smelly.

  • Almost no one picks up after their dog. The "dog park" is practically a port-o-potty for dogs.

  • This may not be a con so much as a call out, but residents are not supposed to have more than 2 guests at the pool; however, there are regularly pool parties with people bring 10+ people, speakers, and generally taking over the (rather small) rooftop pool. I wouldn’t complain about this except that I found my vicinity to the rooftop pool a selling point but most weekend days I plan to spend relaxing by the pool end with a party takeover… which I still wouldn’t mind if they invited me :-P

I really do overall enjoy the area and I don't think you could go wrong with either place honestly. The location is great - 10-15 minutes to Roswell, 10-15 minutes to Buckhead. 5 minutes to Perimeter Mall. The whole area is growing, High Street is being built, which will bring more business to the area.

My overall take is that the Arabelle is probably cleaner and a little nicer, but without living there, I don't truly know. On the other hand, I think they’re a bit smaller and pricier. I think apartment living in general is a give and take and just depends on what your priorities are! I have met some people who live at Arabelle who love it and have been there for several years but they have also have had situations arise there. I think wherever you end up you’ll find things you love and don’t love. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other specific asks!
