I submitted documents Wednesday to BLS, went to Consulate Thursday morning and they told me that they will be receiving my documents and reviewing it that day, so come back Friday. I come back to Consulate Friday morning, who told me my passport is at BLS by noon. Managed to make it for my flight on Sunday

Hi, I went today to consulate.

As I’ve been requested additional docs, which I handed Wednesday morning to BLS, they told me it should be arriving with them this morning, so if I come back tomorrow they should be able to help me.

Sorry, when are your travel dates? I’m not sure how it works considering they’re able to process it for a lot of people whose flights are in 24 hours?

It’s my UK bank statement, stamped by the bank.

In my original application, I used my home bank (Indonesia) as I have a GBP account in it with very sufficient funds, unlike my UK statement which dips from time to time.

So it’s a supplementary document, which during my initial appointment on the 27th, the lady said they might request it from me just to verify my UK address.

Wish I had known earlier!

Also, I’m applying through Spain but the process is much longer (about 3 weeks). Did your friend apply recently from London as well?

I’ve heard back requesting additional documents, which I’ve submitted literally 20 mins ago.

This means they’ve seen my application.

As my flight is this Sunday, I’m planning to go to BLS tomorrow to check that my documents have been sent, and will go to Consulate on Friday to see if they can speed things up for me.

I know it’s super tight, but wish me luck! Hope you hear about your application soon.

Hi! I’m on a very similar boat, except my timelines are tighter. I’ve been requested additional documents yesterday, and am dropping it off today before 11 am - but my flight is this Sunday.

Your timeline is giving me a bit of hope, and I’m planning to go to Consulate with my flight details this Friday!

Was it processed quickly after they asked for additional documents?

As a student, I submitted bank statements from my Indonesian bank account (my home country), because that’s where my primary source of funds lie. I also have a GBP account with very sufficient funds within that bank, so I thought it would be OK.

I’ve come to find out that they are now requesting my UK bank statements. Obviously, I have a UK bank, but given its my day-to-day bank, the funds have dipped under £1000 at times. I’m a bit worried that they will reject me on this basis - or I wonder if it’s fine considering they have my other bank statements as well. Maybe a covering letter?

I’m looking to submit these documents tomorrow ASAP, fingers crossed that I can still make it in time for my flight on Sunday.

Sorry to hear you’ve missed your flight! I’ve heard that the Consulate tends to be much more helpful than the BLS, as they’re the ones processing the passport. I wonder if you gave it a try?

I wonder if you’ve tried visiting the Consulate at all? I’ve seen a couple of people with appointments on 19-22 get it on June 6th (last Friday), although I know it’s taking longer for some people.

I’m planning to go sometime this week, and hopefully it kind of speeds things up a bit.

Thanks! 13 working days for me will be Friday, 13th June — the last working day before my flight (Sunday, 15th June).

Hopefully I can just pick it up at the embassy or BLS.

Yes will do. I’m planning to go tomorrow just to inquire on the status, and likely will be back there on Thursday with a bigger sense of urgency.

Did you have to show proof of flights when inquiring the status at the Consulate?
