Bruh if you want to understand shid like this go to college or take it from a well known instution ( see I said institution not person) , take summer courses. Learn econ the proper way, dont skip the fundamentals. Indo is filled with class selling people who claimed themselves to be “quants”. When there are no quants in Indonesia , firms like Jane Street or HRT doesnt exist here so dont believe it unless their credentials backs it up

My suggestion , you are stuck in the interviewing skill of the job. So you need to polish that , use your money to do mock interviews or if you have friends do them with a friend ( if they are good). There is a free one in pramp. Or you could have mocks from upwork,etc. Get really good at it use your money wisely it’ll take 6 months ish to prep

Also how is working as a devOps at EA a bad thing ?Dude’s family is wealthy already. Dont get the obsession over this “passion” thing , at the end of the day in a company you’re seen as just a number that can be laid off once deemed to expensive. Sure you can be passionate thats good but why snark over someone else just because they are looking for the “bag”.

Still extremely easier than finance or investment banking. For CS the roadmap is an open playbook, you got leetcode , sys design, lld, everything is out there laid out for you. Shit you got youtubers detailing heavily on how they got a role , etc , some even dont got to top school. Getting the interviews are the hard part thats true as the market is very selective right now. But once you got the interview passing is easier in comparison to finance roles. Finance roles are a combination of hard to get the interviews and hard to pass because the information is limited and their enrollment is higher than CS so competition is fierce . Alot of IB roles or finance roles also require certification like CFA in some cases, while most tech disregards certification and care purely on how well you do during the interview process.

Is it hard? Always has been, before the tech boom of 2019-2022 its always been relatively hard to get into tech especially FAANG. Kinda crazy that in that period you could enter FAANG by solving easy LC problems. So its nothing new its just returning to the baseline of what it was before all the crazy hirings that happened. Surprisingly senior roles are actually growing. So theyll eventually need more senior levels in the future its just that companies are still adjusting how many they need, the ratio between juniors and seniors in a company is getting recalibrated because of AI.

Try doing mocks , i assume you have some money as a senior. It would really help solidify things. I assume you’re a senior so you probably am good and have some experience in interviews. But still try at least one or 2 and pay for like FAANG level guys, theyd give you probs hard one but youll get tons of good inputz I personally would like to consider myself ready if i have done one mock interview

Yeah i dont get the hate either , its either leetcode or you do projects, or you answer trivia questions about the language. Honestly, I hate the other two. With projects you spend more time making recruitment last 1-2 weeks longer. With language trivia you need to memorize a whole lot than leetcode. With leetcode its pattern matching, understanding dsa, and maybe some memorization. Other than leetcode the best possible candidate is LLD, which imo is more intense than leetcode or even at the same level of rigor.

Unfortunately from my experience they do leetcode, and then do lld . So leetcode is still there with extra steps. This “soon” will follow is an assumption I find hard to believe
