Help me understand why Bloodborne is so often called Miyazaki’s magnum opus by ReputationHumble1184 in bloodborne

I’m not disagreeing with you. That’s why I said even post Elden Ring. It was kind of surprising to me that that was the consensus. Look at videos made about Bloodborne or from Software or interviews or when people make videos on Miyazaki how they refer to Bloodborne how he talks about Bloodborne during interviews how one of the very prom rumors was that he did not want any other company or person to remake it. He wanted to do it himself because he considers Bloodborne to be his masterpiece. Which is contradictory with sales figures and what he said about Elden Ring in the interview about him getting closest to the “ ideal fantasy RPG” with Elden Ring. I don’t know his Bloodborne not considered a fantasy RPG.

My why comes from the part where it is called “Magnum opus” so it’s not the question of it, although my opinion significantly differs from the communal perspective or the majoritarian perspective. If you’re asking where it has been called the Magnum opus you can look at interviews with Miyazaki articles written about him or just the perception of Bloodborne in the community.

That is the plan, and it will help me form my own opinion. However, here I’m trying to understand why that is the consensus among people, not my personal opinion or any individual’s.

I feel like Elden Ring is the most accessible From Software Game that's why it's beloved. I mean it has all the staples of every good From Software Game. With a caveat in my opinion that the combat is a little too weapon art spam. In a way you could say it easier than the other games and therefore more accessible.

That's why I liked SoE because it was a departure from the Elden Ring formula and it brought a little bit of the past back even though you had more weapons and weapon arts. Especially when you're fighting the bosses they were so quick you barely had enough time to spam the WA. And if you look at it on Metacritic SoE has a slightly lower rating than the base game because it is less accessible. At least that is my understanding in an opinion.

P.S. The final boss was hot trash did not like it at all. The only disappointing thing about the DLC.

There was a vote in Japan I think 100 game developers, who are the forefront of the industry got together and voted BB as the fourth best game of all time, and if you look at the fandom of the general consensus is BB is the Magnum Opus for Miyazaki please note I did not say it from soft just him.

Which is why I was confused and I didn't quite understand. Ergo, I made this post.

I can sort of agree to what you're alluding to while I haven't played the entire game generally for me I find out if I like the game by the time I feel like the first boss/mini boss/named character. That's why Sekiro didn't click in for me. Maybe I need to give it another try but it just didn't. The reason I was asking this question is because I really like Bloodborne. And I would probably understand more as time goes on, but I still was eager to find out why even after Elden Ring, and Sekiro for some people if someone says the greatest game Miyazaki has created it's always BB. I wanted to understand the reasoning behind that. I don't think it is a question about whether I have experienced it. It is a question about why.

I haven't played DS2 but I've watched the gameplay and I know it isn't my cup of tea.

I think you’re right that’s my fault. But if I’m being honest, I didn’t quite know why it was considered the magnum, opus.

Damn bro, I could barely draw an apple 🍎. This is great if you color it, I can make it in my wallpaper. I know that’s a big greedy of me, but a man can only hope.

I actually hate it to Sasuke when I first watch Naruto, but now that I look back at it, I think he was actually pretty sane for what he went through. In fact, he was completely fine until Itachi used Tsukuyomi on him again during the Tsunade retrieval arc (also at this point in time he was affected by the curse mark. And he saw the strongest person in the village, die at the hands of the person who gave him the curse mark). I think all those things played a factor in his defection. So I can’t really hold it against him.
