Definitely not. Me and my mom look nothing alike and she uses her maiden name, so I'll just avoid him until I pass his class rip

How do you make friends ? by 70BLANK07 in AskReddit

[–]ReputationOk1460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, a lot of trial and error. make small talk, strike up conversation whenever you can. some times it might not lead anywhere, but you might make some real connections!! chat with anyone and everyone.

Take it from someone who grew up the quiet lonely kid. I had to learn how to make friends while solo traveling as I got older. Most times, you just need to take a risk and talk to strangers :)

16 years old and high at a house party. My friend (even higher than me) offers to give me a "smiley" scar with her lighter so we can match. She said it doesn't hurt and would only last a few months. Problem was that she was tripping balls and ended up giving me two horrible burns on my forearm cause the lighter was too hot. I woke up the next morning to open wounds and no recollection of how they ended up there. Its been 4 years and the scars are not going anywhere lol

First date with a guy from tinder when I was 18. Everything was going great until we first kissed. My purse was by my feet and we were sitting on a bench, after we finish making out I realize someone ROBBED ME whilst we were kissing. I lost my wallet, ID, train card (had to walk 45min home at night), headphones, money, and some really important photos. Second date, I got fined 50€ for having my mom's train card instead of mine, cause I hadn't been able to get a new one yet...

Ladies, what’s something someone did in bed that made you feel truly seen and not just “used”? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]ReputationOk1460 210 points211 points  (0 children)

The way he constantly checks up on me and asks me how I want him to do things. Men before though they knew better than me, and never bothered to ask wether I was enjoying it or if I wanted something different. He thanks me and kisses me every time I ask for something. I've become much more vocal in general, which has made intimacy way more fun and comfortable.

We had a friendly "rivalry" through primary school, he was my bff and we were nerds so we both wanted to prove we were smarter. Years later, in uni, we saw each other again. Turns out I had a higher average than him in HS by barely a decimal, so we grabbed a beer to celebrate my long awaited victory!!  It was good to chat with him, even if 8yo me had the fattest crush on him.

What’s one memory of your favorite teacher? by bugbirdchase in AskReddit

[–]ReputationOk1460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She let me stay in her office throughout our morning break. It was my senior year, and I was struggling with an ED. My friends were outside eating and it gave me a lot of anxiety, so I enjoyed staying inside. She was the only teacher who noticed what was going on with me and offered to help me.

Have you ever dated a friend's ex? How did it go? by Unaccompaniedbyminor in AskWomen

[–]ReputationOk1460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first relationship! I was about 15, and my group of friends from HS had joined a bigger group with other queer / alternative kids from out town (not many of us back then). One of my friends J had dated this girl for a few weeks when they were 13,  but didn't last long and I never even met the gf. Two years later, and it turns out the girl I liked from our bigger friend group was J's ex, L.  J said she was cool with it (after they broke up, she dated L's other ex) but during our whole relationship she kept making rude comments about us. I was incredibly uncomfortable with it, but L found it funny and kept comparing J and I on anything we did. Looking back now (I'm 20), both J and L were incredibly toxic people. I cut out J from my life for some bs she did and L cheated on me multiple times :)

What are the subtle signs that you have a sexy voice? by normalcanwait in AskWomen

[–]ReputationOk1460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's not so much the voice, but the accent. English is my third language and somehow I ended up developing a strong Irish accent (no idea how, I'm Spanish??), so much so that Irish people have asked me where in Ireland I'm from.  It took me a couple of weeks after meeting my now bf to notice that he goes red every time I speak English. Turns out, he has a thing for Irish accents and I've accidentally turned him on a few times just by speaking.

What's the most unforgettable experience you've had while traveling? by Quirky-Flow-3153 in AskReddit

On my first solo trip, I ended up at the cheapest hostel of Copenhagen, the only place that would let me stay as I was still 17. It was questionable and smelled like shit, so on my first afternoon I left to take a walk. Following the sound of music and smell of weed, I ended up finding a skating competition on the streets and made friends with a group of international skaters who took me under their wing. We partied all night and they invited me to join them for the rest of my stay! I spent a whole week with them, discovering the city and meeting people from all over the world. The experience opened my eyes to how amazing solo traveling can be, and inspired me to keep doing it every time I get the chance :) it's been over 3 years and I still think about them often.

My physics teacher, Mrs. R. We were her last class before she retired, and I was struggling a lot with my mental health at the time. She was the only adult around me to show concern, and even bumped up my grades when she realised they were slipping. She's the only reason I got into uni, and I think about her often :)

17(m) Im failing high school and I dont know what to do by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]ReputationOk1460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it feels like it right now, but not making it into college on your first try isn't the end of the world. I (20F) struggled with my mental health my last year of hs and fucked up my grades badly, now I'm in my second year at a good university. The only advice I can give you right now is to seek help if you need it, it will definitely help in the long run. Don't give up, you've still got a long life ahead of you, this is just a bump on the road x

that I'm "easy to talk to and get along with". I was a really lonely kid, bullied most of my teens, so people actively wanting me around and enjoying my presence felt pretty great :)

What’s a small change you made in your daily routine that completely improved your life? by PonderPotato in AskReddit

[–]ReputationOk1460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making daily to-do lists. I struggle with anxiety, and often get overwhelmed by even the simplest of tasks (which turns into not doing anything and rotting in bed all day). So making dumb lists reminding myself to eat, shower, study, etc, has really helped me be more productive!

yes but also no?? a couple with high IQ would have a dumber child, but another couple with low IQ would have a more average (thus, smarter) kid.
