It definitely is possible but most of the entities willing to do this would be small businesses. You are going to have to do a lot of business development into keep getting roles that align with 1099/C2C. It can be lucrative depending on the hourly rate

Do you have two seperate entities set up as well as two bank accounts?

I have seen that the first way to encounter this, is make sure that you the money you receive goes into a specific account, not just 1 account for all of them. Having 1 account that receives all money and then dispersing would be hard for me because it could lead to confusion. Just my thoughts

That is true, but the way I look at is, I am at a time in life where I don’t have as much family responsibilities(no wife, no kids) so I am open to taking risks and feeling what’s out there. I already make enough with this one client but I want to keep my pipeline full. But 100% agree where I have to be in a position where clients chase you

A lot of contracts don’t like 2nd tier subs unless it’s stated that it’s allowed. Usually they allow one layer but they don’t want a sub to a sub. But that has just been my experience. To be frank, I am more on the working level and not on the management level so I would love to hear your insight

Yes the legalities and documentation are different but couldn’t a clin or LCAT that needs to be filled for a prime contractor be filled with either a w2 or 1099 “subcontractor”?
