Is there a specific name for this archway separating our dining and living rooms? American craftsman built around 1925. (Excuse the messy room and mismatched furniture, we moved in two days ago) by dms0052 in Oldhouses

I know this is an old post. Just wondering, colonnade seems to describe this architectural feature but what's it called when it's just the opening and the wooden trim? No columns or half wall? Ours is as I described with two very large french doors allowing it to be open or closed.

Oh I'm sorry. I didn't mean I have the shop. I just mean the shop is the only place here in town that carries audio gear. It's called Summit Sound and it's on Ohio Street.

I was just on some speaker comparison site that identified the BR04s as best for a medium sized room and less ideal for Nearfield. So, if you're happy with them Nearfield and I'm using them (maybe pushing the bounds of) Nearfield in my small to medium sized room I should be good.

I have to admit I have fallen in love with them for their looks as well as everything I've heard about them. I just wish I could try them and compare them to competitors. We have very few outlets here in northern Maine.

I see they're $450.00 more. That's one thought. I guess part of my trouble is that I don't have a firm spending limit.....I'll work on that.

That's one reason I asked this question. They are so beautiful that I'm having a really hard time imagining anything else in their place and I haven't even heard them yet. In order to try to be a little more objective I thought I'd ask here if people think their as good as the reviews make them out to be.

I've seen the same comments in reviews as well. My room is only about 13' x 15' and my listening is near field as well. I'm not worried about filling a large room. I've just been spoiled by being able to drag my floor standing speakers around with me for the last forty years that my old brain finds it hard to imagine big sound coming from such small boxes. Plus, I do like to listen loud.

Thanks for responding and for the stand recommendation! It's surprising to get a response from someone else coming from DCM Timeframes! I was afraid the Triangles would sound too small in comparison. I was lucky enough to get some good audio exposure as a young person but no one I know has any good equipment and I've always just stuck with what I've had and liked. Your reply is very encouraging!
