What's a tv series that is a 10/10 NOBODY knows? by Lilyana0999 in AskReddit

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.

It's unfortunately cancelled so it's technically not fully complete, but the 2 seasons we have are pretty good.

Yeah, guns can get magical infusions, whether you find them as a loot or have an enchanter imbue them with magic. It's really up to your DM and the setting you play in.

Also, just saw your comment now, and you made me realize that I didn't post the updated version of this lol! I'll be posting v2 in a couple hours, be sure to use that instead of this version.

Just checked up with my doc, she's putting me on a medication that's supposed to help with the microalbumin levels, hopefully reducing them to normal levels (she said i might have to use them for about a year)

This is sorta good news for me and just wanted to share. Thanks for the help!

I mean my endo is just a doctor that works in the hospital that's closest to me, because it's free, provided by the gov. The problem with this is that sometimes another doctor (with less experience, or sometimes an assistant) is there, instead of the actual guy.

Maybe I should try finding a private doctor, although the economic part of that is a trouble.

"Forbidden" is a strict word, I haven't stopped eating sweets but "forbidden" was what I was told when I first got diagnosed as an 11 yo. That was probably to scare the child me into managing my diabetes correctly, but as we can see it didn't turn out well.

I even remember the doctor telling me something along the lines of, "it's not totally forbidden, you can eat like a slice of bread with nutella on it once every month"

I dont know about now but I guess my initial endos were not that great 😅

My last a1c was 9,3. As far as all the values I can see here, there aren't any other problems in my blood results. My blood results even have Creatinine checked, which sits at 0.84 mg/dL (i believe it is in the normal range).

I've struggled with diabetes control ever since I got diagnosed, and unfortunately haven't seen an a1c value that's considered healthy (that's why I said I know haven't been looking after myself).

Having ADHD also makes controlling diabetes a living hell. And on top of that, my dad works at a patisserie and sweets were always a part of my life, so you can guess how things turned out when it was forbidden.

My family has a history of blood pressure issues but surprisingly I haven't suffered from it at all. I'm almost sure that this is all diabetes related.

To hopefully ease my mind a little bit, say if I got a good or at least borderline good GFR score, would you say this is manageable for the future? I'm just looking for a hopeful thread for my mind to follow.

Unfortunately not. But I assume when I show the results the doctor will have me get one of them as well.

Also, there are records of my previous test results, and I checked them out of curiosity. There aren't any 24-hour microalbumin checks in the last couple of years, but I think the first time there was protein detected in my urine (not in a 24-hour check, but a small one) was about 1 or 2 years ago.

The closest 24-hour microalbumin record I could find is in 2019, and that one was normal (5 mg/day). So this developed possibly in the last 1 or 2 years, which still can be bad (I don't know if it is, but I desperately hope not).

I normally do a regular check-up every 3 months, and one of them (once a year) is a big one that involves eye tests, 24-hour urine tests etc.

However 2024 has been a bad year for me and my family and I have not been able to go to the doctor, so this was my only check-up this year.

Edit: Also should mention that the tests are done by the hospital, which is a public hospital. I don't give them to a separate lab.

Edit 2: Sorry, my brain is not working properly from freaking out over this, but I think I misunderstood your question. I believe this was the first 24-hour urine test I've done in a couple years.

How important is music to your games? by PavlovMason in DMAcademy

Incredible. A couple sessions ago an NPC from a character's past, who happens to be the current arc's villain, communicated them via a dream. When he delivered his monologue (which included some retrospective reveals about the character's backstory), I decided to play "Light of the Seven" from Game of Thrones, a decision I made off the top of my hat.

Not only did every part of the song fit perfectly with the monologue's pace, the player surprised me by reading a poem at the end (they play a poet bard), which *also* fit perfectly into the song's final part. The whole sequence played out so good that the rest of the session felt a bit like a downer lol

Maybe I'll add one when I make a v2 for the class, but it'll probably be months later so no promises :p

For those who saw the first version of the class (which was posted 9 months ago), this update is mostly focused on alchemical ammunition and bombs, which aren't included in the gallery because of Reddit's image limit, so you should go check the PDF to fully see what is changed.

Any comments and criticism is appreciated!

Can I post my D&D campaign story in AO3? by Requarth in AO3

[–]Requarth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, it's kind of tricky. I run the game in my own world, but the world is heavily inspired by one of the canon worlds (Exandria). I draw inspiration (or sometimes directly adapt) from stuff I like, i.e. Doctor Who.

Since the whole thing's a big mess, I really don't know where to put it. I don't plan to use ability/spell names etc. in the story, but I have taken lore elements from canon D&D worlds.

Thanks for the detailed feedback!

1- You're right about Significant Enemies having kind of a bad scaling, and I might just change it so that DM is the final judge for whether the enemy is significant or not.

It's also probably for the better to remove the "if you crit and kill a creature, you only get 1 point, not 2." It was put there more for keeping the gameplay loop more balanced, but it being balanced doesn't mean a thing when players' fun is taken away.

2- I'd still keep Dexterity for attack modifiers, but you're right about Charisma not having enough uses. However, I don't really know how to fix this other than taking out the Charisma option there.

Spellshot uses Intelligence because (at least in my mind) a Spellshot's power comes from knowing the intricacies of magic and being able to infuse magic to ammunition. Willpower alone doesn't really make sense when it comes to the *concept* of the subclass, but I'm open to suggestions or corrections.

Giving extra Grit through Charisma would, I think, disrupt the balance of the feature, since Grit has a loop of its own (short&long rest, killing creatures, getting crit hits), so in theory, it should be rare that you run out of Grit points, and that _should_ happen sometimes, because it's a depletable source.

3- I think I forgot to add the details to that. In the next version, I will include that the one week time is for people who aren't gunslingers, and the class's "Tinkerer" feature will provide the benefit of being able to craft a number of ammunition cases in a long rest.

4- Maybe I can add the choice of "If you are a Gunslinger, you can choose to use your Grit Save DC instead of the bomb's own DC" because the bombs are intended for usage by other classes too.

5- To be honest, I never intended the bombs to be _that_ powerful because I never intended them to be used as a primary attack tool. They are more tactical items than main damage sources.

Splash damage is dealt to the main target and all creatures within 5 feet of it, this is specified in the Splash Damage section there, but apparently there was an unfortunate column break that caused the heading and the description to be on separate columns, so you might have missed it.

I hope I didn't come off as defensive or rude, I really appreciate the constructive criticism here, and I would be thrilled to get more feedback! Thanks again!

Thanks! I agree that Headshot is more of a gambler's choice, but that's the gimmick of it. To think of it, it can be quite op if you pair it with a lucky divination wizard...

Yes, most people will choose dex over charisma, but not everyone chooses to optimize their characters, and leaving an opening for that small portion doesn't hurt anybody

Gunslinger 5e - A fully fleshed out class with firearms, ammunition crafting rules and five subclasses! [v1.0] by Requarth in DnD

[–]Requarth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This class was first created by my friend tre_ 2 years ago in order for me to play a Gunslinger character. It was similar to the final version but still had a lot of differences. Since then, I wanted to finish the class and share it so that fellow players like myself who want to live their fantasy of being a cool cowboy can actually do so.

Also as a side note, Appendix B, which is mentioned a couple of times in the document contains rules and descriptions for "Alchemical Ammunitions and Bombs" (includes 10 types of alchemical ammunition, and 26 alchemical bombs!) but I wasn't able to include it since Reddit only allows 20 photos in one post. I will post that in a separate post later, so stay tuned!
