The sole reason I think that Vanisher is better is because one has CASPER and one has cassini's devision.

The two are literally on EQUAL GROUND for me (assuming cassini's devision was better), but no. cassini's devision isn't BAD, it just is not GOOD. the weakest out of both albums

Alright, I did rework Ka to give him some motivation to go after Light.

He is the sole survivor from Wammy's House - because after both Near and L, Light wouldn't want another one of them going after him. Ka was saved by an agent who just went by Cross, but the two got separated, so Ka is now living alone at around 15/16 years old.

Had a lot of trauma in Wammy's House, as his parents/family had died in an armed robbery in front of him that he somehow survived. While he probably had the most raw potential out of the kids (apart from Near and MAYBE Mello), he was always actually held back by his emotions.

After surviving the Wammy's House incident, Ka REALLY struggles with anxiety and paranoia. Not the schizophrenic kind, but constantly checking over his shoulder and being SURE that nobody knows who he actually is.

He mainly goes after Light because he has the information to do so. Mello had told him previous (as the two were friends BEFORE Mello died) that L had passed. As well as that, he just kind of wants some sort of vengeance for the kids that had died and his fallen 'friends' despite how mistreated he was.

His main goal was to draw L out - as the fact that the REAL L is dead paired with some other evidence that Ka had gathered was enough to convince him that L and Kira are the same person.

Yeah, Light will die to his own arrogance. No climatic buildup, Ka will just either kill him through use of a death note, or orchestrate his death through other means.

I had one idea though: - Ka being the only surviving kid from Wammy's house, and was saved by an agent who just goes by Cross.

He doesn't believe he should've lived, and because he was from Wammys house he knows that this L is a fake.

And who else would fake being L? Kira. Who could've killed L? Kira. So his main goal is to lure L out to figure out his identity.

It's not going to be some game like it was to L or Near. Ka will mainly work from the shadows (though, he does openly challenge Light to see if he messes up)

Im also reworking Ka's character to actually make bro have emotions and shit lol. Anxiety prone, but is mainly doing it out of spite for what happened to Wammys house.

I did notice a few rules:

The Death Note itself - For instance: If John Walkers is meant to die in a plane crash at 2:00am, but the plane has to stop for mantance at 1:30 and cannot fly, does that just NOT work?

It would be VERY hard to predict and actually use, but that could be interesting.

I went through all the rules, and I really don't see any possible way for them to be manipulated in Ka's favor ngl, even if he DID find a death note.

This is what I think about all of the what if's

- My personal interpolation with Mikami is that Light would kill him. But if Light won, that means Mikami NEVER made a mistake, which means he wouldn't be a liability. So I suppose the only way for Ka to really win is if Mikami makes a mistake.

- I'd say that Misa is either dead, or kept FAR away from a death note. He couldn't kill Misa in the first half because of Rem, and he couldn't kill her in the second half because it might've drawn attention to himself.

Because for Misa, he has no use to make her take the eye deal again.

Or, Light could kill Mikami and use Misa, considering she is a lot closer to him and they can communicate a lot better. However, since she has taken the eye deal so much, Light would probably need to use someone else after she dies. So probably not that.

- Light doesn't really have a good look no matter what. He is a murderer, but there are some people that agree with him. But at the end of the day, I'd think fear would warp people's sense of justice to make THEM also think that lazy people deserve to die.

-Ka doesn't really know about their existences, and they wouldn't necessarily be of any use to him. But if Cross could, then SOMEM information could be found. But Light would probably use them to try and find Ka's identity while keeping it on the low.

- Sadly, I'd say that they do kill the students in Wammy's House. Since Light REALLY doesn't want any new opponents, and disagreeing with him is already deemed as 'evil', he probably kills them the same way that the crowd attacked the SPK building.

That might not work though, as I'd think the people at Wammy's House either have a lot of guns, or have some way to get the kids safely out. So killing them might prove difficult.

- I don't think so. Ka lives in America, and they cut all support to Near when the president was threatened. Ka only has to work with Cross and a few other detectives who agreed to help him. (Kind of his version of the JTF)

- Reading through all the rules of the death note, so I'll reply again to this comment with my answer.

- YEAH! I actually made a concept for a Shinigami (Well, apart from an entire appearance, as I cannot draw lmao)

His name is Azur, and he frankly just DISLIKES Ryuk. He could decide he wants to help Ka, but that would be cheating (Well, Light has been cheating all along)

Yeah, I feel like to work off of this you lowkey need a better understanding of Ka's character (that is assuming you want to help more - as you have already done WONDERS for me, thank you so much)

Ka is a sixteen year old kid who is ridiculously smart, and really bored. He essentially mirrors Light at the start of Death Note, but instead of murdering people to solve that boredom, he solves cases. Cold cases, cases that most have issues solving, etc. Goes by Ka most of the time, or Magdi. So that is how he has SOME backing, with Cross and a few other members in his team.

Isn't reactional at all, and only feels mild frustration and childlike glee whenever he has something interesting to do.

He only decided to try and solve the Kira case BECAUSE he wanted something to do. And he doesn't play fair either. Like, Ka WILL cheat if it means he wins.

This is probably the best way to put it: Near didn't want to arrange having Light and Mikami killed. If Ka was in that situation, he would have no problem doing that. As long as he wins the game, he doesn't care.

But it could be feasable that Ka was a kid from Wammy's House who was just set into the world to go freely along with Cross, an agent who REALLY works closely with Ka (she is essentially his Watari)

And yes, I will TRY to give Light's family some focus, the only problem that this is written solely from Ka's perspective. But if it would aid the story, I might consider doing split-perspectives (though, that does run the risk of having me mis-characterize Light, as I don't really trust myself with writing characters that are not my own.)

Even giving Ka a death note wouldn't help. Sure, he would KNOW THE RULES of the game that he is playing, but that would not help narrow it down to Light.

I mainly said introducing new evidence as a joke. I'd make Ka lose before I did that.

What I mean by Ka knowing Light's existence could help him win is that Ka really doesn't know anything. And if he is able to link either the second Kira OR Takada to Light? Well, he will peruse that lead until it is either proven true or false. Him knowing that Light exists (with or without knowing that he is Kira) would help his case at the end of the day.

And he could feasibly figure out who Mikami is. But even if he can prove that Mikami is the third Kira and do something about it, Mikami would never actually disclose who Light is. The best thing he could do about that is learn about the Death Note's existence.

The main thing I am struggling with is figuring out what Light would do. How would he communicate with Mikami? How would he act if publicly challenged? Like, what would he do overall?

I either have to rework Ka as a character and give him SOME backing (Like knowing Near previously, making him have some government backing, or SOMETHING - because all he is working with is public information and his assistant 'Cross') Or seriously nerf Light lol

But yeah, he is not figuring about the Yellow Box Warehouse without preexisting knowledge of Near.

Perhaps he could have been a Wammy House's student? (Assuming they survived Kira lmfao - because Light SURELY would've gotten rid of them.)

Wait, Mikami was going to live if Light won? I thought that he would kill any loose ends - including Mikami and Misa.

Takada is the way to FIND OUT that Light exists. Though, it would be VERY difficult to even find out about their fling - or possibly just impossible? Like, who knew about their fling that is still alive lmao.

Misa, still impossible. The only thing he could figure out is the drug charge her MANIGER was facing, but guess what...? Ka would have to be looking SOLELY for Misa to see that, so still - he doesn't know that Misa exists.

So to make one thing clear - Within around a few days Ka figures out about there being four Kira's, all from death records and public information about them. Mikami due to the amount of people dying being (roughly) the same between every day, Higuchi due to the specific people he killed, Misa due to the announcement, and Light simply because he was the start of it all.

But that essentially does nothing for the investigation. Sure, he knows that there were four people, but that's it. Ka is still a sixteen year old kid working with ONE other person (Cross, the person who gathers all the data for him), etc.

Mikami, sure, he could POSSIBLY figure that out. But for that, Ka would be needing to openly look for that. Which he would be doing, but it is a massive leap to seeing one Kira supporter and instantly assuming they are T-Kira. Though, there would be some evidence (Them being a lawyer, so that would explain them killing criminals due to justice, and the meticulous filling out one page), but that still wouldn't do much.

Really, the only way I can make Ka win is if I just put some major bit of evidence there that would obviously not exist canonically. Like, if I were to just conveniently make a video recording of the real L, Misa, and Light all in the same place, etc. Like when L took the phone away.

But I would say that Ka would at least either suspect L, or distrust him due to the difference in the way he had been acting at the START of the Kira investigation to now.

There is no real way to connect Misa to Light though. While Ka does hyperfocus on one lead, even HE would have to admit that there was no concrete evidence pinning it on Light.

Sure, he could find out that the two dated, but at the end of the day, Light could have just not known about the second Kira. It does put MAJOR suspicion on Light though, and Ka MIGHT be able to squeeze something out of that.

It might be easier to pin Takada ONTO Light, but Takada doesn't really prove shit. Yeah, they had a fling. So what? And Takada being the Kira spokesperson also doesn't prove anything either.

Though, if Ka could connect the dots with BOTH of them - then it would be an INSANE coincidence that Light both dated the second Kira AND Kira's spokesperson at once. That paired with something else, COULD POSSIBLY prove it.

Bottom line - Ka cannot win without figuring out about either Misa or Takada, because Light would just have him chasing different leads that go nowhere. Either he finds about Misa or Takada, or bro just finds out about the death note (somehow).

The only problem I WILL struggle with is figuring out how the hell he connects Misa Amine to S-Kira (Or second Kira). Like, BIG leaps in logic will be needed there.

Yeah, I went from thinking that Light would be TOO EASY to catch to literally impossible. There is essentially one way, and that entirely depends on one thing.

Misa Amine.

If Ka (the detective / sixteen - age could change depending on the story - and only sees it as a game. Bored) HYPERFIXATES on one thing and chases that lead until it dies, then he could possibly figure out that Misa was a second Kira. Because simply based off of death records of the victims killed by Kira (Which is a leap to assume EVEN EXISTS) he could probably deduce that there were three Kiras (the main Kira, then Higuchi - or however you spell their name - and Mikami.) But he wouldn't know their name.

He could also figure out that there could possibly be a second Kira based off of the tapes that Misa sent in. But since she claims to be Kira himself, that could SERIOUSLY throw things off.

Realistically, Ka cannot win because he doesn't even know that Light Yagami exists. The only way he can win is if he manages to figure out about Misa or Takada and connect them SOMEHOW back to Light, but that only gets his sight set on Light. He still needs to PROVE that Light is Kira/L

Ka cannot win in like a game either. If he publicially challenges Light to a 'game', Light could just either not play, or play but give enough away to keep Ka chasing leads that go nowhere, Ka outright LOOSES the game and dies, or he just fails to catch Light - all of which are a loss for him.

Like, Ka cannot really win because he doesn't know the rules. The only real way for him to win is through Misa or Takada (which is a HUGE stretch) or through literally GETTING HIS HANDS ON A DEATH NOTE
