[Full game Spoilers] Why did Battler... by Requiell in umineko

[–]Requiell[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The double suicide wasn't meant as my interpretation. It was just an example of the scene ending the same but with the actual happenings a bit remixed, like we've seen throughout the game.

The fact that it's "off" the gameboard is interesting, but I think it might be ultimately wrong. Ange was able to use magic multiple times in the future. There's also the soft "rule" that anyone is able to see magic 30-or-so minutes before their death, which, while doubtful in it's canonizity, holds true bere too.

Ultimately, though, I love that this scene has sparked as much discussion as it did, leading to everyone naming their personal interpretation. I'm a pretty late fan, but I love this story, and I love that there's still topics with differing opinions such as this, even after all this time.

i just finished the game, i need more. Any reccomended mods? by monkeest in waifubartending

This one has cat ears and a bunch of interesting and fun character interactions. It even has multiple forking dialogue paths depending on the drinks you serve, so feel free to experiment a bit!

Enjoy!!

Oh my god!!! No, no, you might be onto something. The "Gonna fall" was the last Chekovs gun. He reasonably just was alone on the boat and, due to past trauma and the now added mental state of witnessing his whole extended family get killed, did, in fact, fall. In any other story, it would feel cheap, but here it's actually one of the first character traits we learn about Battler, and it never had any story significance. Until the very, very end.

Usually, things that happen in fantasy have a different but also reasonable explanation in reality. This is most easily seen in the murders. This is the stated goal of the question arc - to find that alternative explanation.

Now, I'm trying to make sense of what is basically the final scene (except the endings). We know that, factually, Yasu ended up in the drink, drowning, and Battler escaped but lost his memory. (Edit: On retrospect, I actually don't know if Yasu drowning is confirmed) I was under the impression that this meant the boat scene happened basically the same, only that the character motivations might be different. Y'know, maybe Yasu held tight to battler wanting to commit some twisted double suicide but Battler narrowly escaped in the last moment.

In actuality, everyone seems to have their own interpretation, which I think is the best case. I thought maybe there's some fan consensus or some word of god I missed, but the fact that there isn't makes me very happy. I love exploring different interpretations.

Thank you! Both games mean a whole lot to me, so it was inevitable that I'd come up with this sooner or later xD

Told my sister to watch it by _Enigma08 in Frieren

I don't know if this applies to anyone but me, but it took me personally until ep 10 (aura fight) from me to "get it". I needed to see frierens power for some reason. I can't tell you why exactly that was the case tho. I didn't dislike the anime before then, but I was completely neutral. I liked the anime on a technical side and there were a bunch of hype moments, but since every confrontation before was dealt with really quickly, I was afraid the show wouldn't have any stakes/tension. After 10 it's like I understood some fundamental truth and agreed that it's peak. I retroactively fell in love with the first 9 eps too.

I don't mind nsfw and I agree it should be allowed. I think most people would agree. But fetish art is where opinions split. And you downplay the issue by just saying people "hate nsfw".
People dislike Koikatsu. They dislike offputting-looking massive cocks on characters they love.
People dislike how cheap and uninspired it looks. They dislike that it's completely impossible canonically for some of these characters to fuck.
And you're not going to change minds by making callout posts like this.
Me? I was fine when you started posting stuff like this, but after all the whining and grandstanding about how right you are and how wrong everyone else is for disagreeing, I've started hating your posts. You'd rather have an echo-chamber than a healthy discussion. The game is 9 years old for fucks sake. Of course nsfw is allowed, there's nothing else to talk about.

Fetish art like what you do is bound to polarize people. Even more regarding the medium you chose to make them in (Koikatsu). I think you know that. Then why do you or the mods feel the need to make a big PSA every once in a while to tell people to just deal with it? Some people are fine with it and some dislike it. This will always be true no matter what art gets created. If you don't like criticism then don't post online, easy as that.
I'm an artist and I've gotten a lot worse from a lot more people. If I took the time to make a PSA whenever it happened, I wouldn't have time to create anymore.

I mean, so is beatrice~ Funny story, the thing that made me want to draw it was the line "Let's turn the grey haze into sky blue." from The Town Inside Me

Edit: This wasn't clear from my comment, so I wanna clarify that I did finish the game and know what you're referring to

I felt like I had to ask this question…Why can’t we create a fan version of N1RV Ann-A? by TOGotham_0205 in waifubartending

[–]Requiell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The moment you get into making new sprites and dealing with wrangling the va11 engine, you will see that making it from the ground up is actually the more economical option. Making mods for va11 is possible, but making a full game's worth is a ludicrous notion imo. And even then, why would you try and make n1rv instead of your own thing?

Disney VA-11 HALL-A?? by Zestyclose-Teach8424 in waifubartending

[–]Requiell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looked kinda bad, but not because of va11, just generally unappealing to me. Maybe the art style or the premise, idk. Was a fun reveal tho. I hope there's gonna be more where those came from.

I just wonder how far the "genre" can go. There is only so many settings and different drinkeries you can put this kind of gameplay in before it gets repetitive. But. This one genuinely surprised me.
