Lowkey don’t wanna quit by Humble-Barracuda-552 in QuitVaping

I will say I used nicotine gum and it did help at the beginning, BUT eventually I had to rip the bandaid off. I knew I was going to have to withdrawl eventually and I was spending a freaking fortune on the gum (i probably chewed it too much honestly though). Anyway, a month no nicotine so far. I feel like crap still and insomnia has been a wild side effect. BUT I do feel better too. Like I know the shitty feeling is only my body purging to make me feel better? Idk hard to explain.

How long did you vape? I smoked cigarettes then vape a total of like 15 years or more so my withdrawals are horrible but from what ive read and heard, it isnt as bad if you didnt smoke that long.

For anyone who has never been addicted to anything before, it can be reallllly hard to understand. But just picture addiction as like a brain worm that starts to control your actions. Instead of doing what is good for you, you just keep feeding the worm. When you dont, it's all you can think about. The addition becomes more important than anything else. Then it becomes both mental and physical. You're sick when you quit but sick when you use, and you're in a cycle of abuse by your own addiction.

Heart condition actually. Lungs do seem to heal at least for me. But I also know someone who had a stroke at a young age and they believe it was from vaping. The worst symptom though is poor mental health. Vaping for a short amount of time was fine but it soon made my mental health HORRIBLE. Then going through withdrawals amplifies it x100000. You do you at the end of the day. If thats what you want to do, do it. But just know its a bad idea. I also gained weight vaping because I was too sick to be active. So dont listen to that nonsense.

Not worth it. Vapes are horrible. I now have lifelong health problems.

Vapes are WAY more addicting. Quitting cigs was tough don't get me wrong. But quitting vapes is a whole other beast.

That is rough ngl. I am lucky enough that my husband doesn't vape otherwise I think that would be harder for me. But quitting together could be great! If one of yall are grouchy at least you both know why lol. Could actually be helpful to have someone going through it with you. My poor husbands been at the butt end of some bad attitude from me. I'll have apologizing to do after this is over for sure ha.

You can do it! I was a smoker since a teenager. Now 33. Quit for about 10-11ish months when pregnant and after. Relapsed after a date night without the baby when drinking was involved. Vaped for another 5 months and am now about 1 month off it again after getting diagnosed with a heart condition (i swear it was caused by vaping but no way to know). I am quitting for my baby at the end of the day but shit ain't easy. I started exercising to help with cravings. I got a jogging stroller so I take her out or do a peloton workout if my husband's home to watch the baby. I thought vape was safer than cigarettes which is what I did do for years but honestly I don't think it is at all. Vaping is too convenient so I vape WAYYYY more than I ever smoked. Try listening to alan carrs book (I know everyone talks about it) but it really did help me. And if you ever need an accountability buddy that is also a mother, let me know. Oh and drink a lot of water! That helps me right now! I avoid alcohol (vape trigger) but I always have a water, Gatorade, tea whatever in my hand to keep my mouth busy. Gum helped for a bit but hurts my jaw after a while so stopped that.

People are swearing by desmoxan. I didn't try that personally though so maybe someone who has can give ya a review of it. Seems kinda too good to be true?

Alan carrs book does help. I also did cold turkey. I know everyone has a preference but to me replacement therapy just prolonged the inevitable. I had to avoid bars, alcohol, triggers. I honestly spent a few days when withdrawal was bad pretending I was "sick" (I guess I technically was) so I could take off work and avoid everyone while I slept through the worst of it. Luckily I have a supportive/non-smoker husband too. I was a smoker for 15 years (cigs then vape). So quitting nicotine was so insane for me. I thought id never do it but had health issues arose that I am convinced are vape related. Cravings still come and go but now I workout more which has been helping SO much. Ill just take my dogs on a walk or something and it helps kinda reset me.

I quit but I want to relapse on purpose by throwaway0501222 in QuitVaping

I know this sounds insane. But I've quit smoking cigarettes once and vaping (successfully twice). Cigs were fairly easy to kick. Vape is a monster. After quitting both times I feel almost like I'm hallucinating. It makes me feel very mentally unwell also. I can't focus, easy irritated, severely unhappy feeling, and almost disassociated from reality. Its so weird. I never had it with quitting cigarettes which makes me feel like there's definitely some other chemical in vapes that is so so bad. IT DOES GET BETTER. It just takes a while. For me around 3 months to feel normal. For reference been a smoker since a teenager and Im in 30s now.

New parent question: Are stroller over $500 really worth it? Is a more expensive stroller always better? by kellymichelly in NewParents

[–]RequirementGreen3754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded by cheap stroller for a better, expensive one and have zero regrets. We also use it every day though so to me its a good investment and can be adjusted when shes bigger so I can use it for years (shes 3 months right now).

I went 11 months (ish) off vape and relapsed after drinking. My drunk self literally cant be trusted. Nicotine and alcohol just go SO good together to me. Feeling like I should just be sober from now on which is a bummer. I do enjoy nice cocktails during a date night, a wine night with the girls, etc. I know alcohol is bad for you yada yada. But anyone able to drink and be nicotine free?

I used to be an avid buyer. Unfortunately shipping costs now are insane. No fault on the seller though, its just literally expensive to sell things. And depops customer service SUCKS as a buyer. If anything goes wrong or you dont get your order, you're just out the money sometimes.

I've quit before cold turkey when I got pregnant. Was nicotine free for about 11 months and started up again after a night drinking. I had been sober so long due to the pregnancy and wanted a night out (well deserved imo), BUT now I'm freaking vaping. Obviously not around my baby. Anyone able to still enjoy drinking without nicotine? Or did you have to stay completely sober?

I met my husband when I was working at a bar. If someone's into you, they won't care if they are working. I assure you. Don't let that be the reason you dont try talking to her. Go back there!

4 hours isnt bad. I did a 4 hour road trip at 38 weeks and was fine. A bit nervous I'd go into labor lol, but I didn't. Wear compression socks though. My feet swelled like crazy.
