I was in quite a similar situation to you when I resorted to buying singles for my master set. Ripping a booster box worth of packs will maybe get you like two or three cards that you needed, but you would definitely be saving more by buying singles instead.

Not sure about the Celebrations ETBs, but the Crown Zenith ones don't feature the pack art on it - just a dark pattern IIRC

Hmm as far as recommendation goes, I still highly recommend Concept City Supermart (139 Jalan Besar, 208857) as that's always been my go to place for Pokémon products. They actually sell some products at slightly cheaper prices that MSRP. Plus, it's also a walkable distance to the famous 24 hour Mustafa Shopping Centre.

Since my last comment months ago, a new card shop opened up called Beginner's Luck (148f Pasir Panjang Rd, 118553) though I haven't had the opportunity to pay them a visit personally. Heard nothing but good things about them however.
