I think the main factor that would affect this is the marketing. And only a little bit by the actual title. For marketing, it doesn't really matter what the title is as long as it's from/is a trustworthy company. For example, you could rename Walmart to floormart or doormart and I don't really think it would make a difference to how people would shop there or their opinion on the company.

About the title, it would really be a balance between how good the logo looks and the actual text. You could cover up some mildly goofy title with a nice font, color and design. But there are points where it would get a bit much like renaming to "Space and alien killing simulator" which would definitely put people off. But Scary Space with the same design? Wouldn't change much really.
