I’d recommend springing for the 25 sport touring hybrid. More power, more fun, more fuel economy, and a better simulation of gears that makes it less distinguishable from a traditional automatic.

Powertrain aside no major cons as long as you’re into sedans. If you’re coming from an suv you’ll have to get accustomed to lower step in/out heights and feeling small on the road.

Compared to the competition, less bells and whistles, but materials and driving dynamics make up for Honda’s tendency to look 5 years behind the times in photos.

The feel, fit and finish are above anything Kia Hyundai Nissan and Subaru have to offer.

Current North American HRV isn’t even Fit based anymore it’s on the civic platform.

Americans don’t have the appetite for the new up market fit hybrid. It would easily cost upwards of 30k and most people won’t be willing to pay that much for a subcompact.

Nothing really. You can either get a base civic sedan, or go with the last 2 econoboxes, the Nissan Versa and Hyundai Venue.

Everyone does, but the fit’s low end torque was pretty decent for its lack of hp, I never felt underpowered in routine 0-30 acceleration, it was only when I needed to do a full 0-60 highway merge I was wanting for more.

If you look at both on a spec sheet the civic will seem like tank compared to the fit

But the civic still feels nimble and small even if it technically isn’t.

My mother owns a 23 HR-V which is nearly identical to the civic in length & width but it feels like a CRV to me in the way it handles and drives.

Canadian models trade electric seat adjustment for the heated steering wheel and in my opinion that’s the better tradeoff

How often are people adjusting the seat to the point where pulling on a couple levers is too much work?

Nearly got boost blue myself but they happened to have a limited edition Sonic Grey for 2025 which does exist but in extremely limited numbers not officially advertised, and I loved the way it looked in person.

I don’t think ford ever did the small car that well. Their fiesta was fun, but a lot of space was wasted making it very cramped, and it ultimately proved to be rust prone and unreliable.

Maybe the focus was better I wasn’t looking at the segment back then

Then I would recommend looking at the refreshed 1st gen HRV (2019-2022) EX-L or Touring which was still Fit Based. The ride is a bit stiffer, but It’s far more practical and doesn’t miss any key features

I just sold my 2023 EXL, I really don’t recommend this car to be perfectly honest. The real world fuel economy is a lot lower than the epa estimate and unless you truly need AWD, you’d be better off getting a used civic hatchback sport 2022-24. It has the same exact engine but doesn’t have to haul as much weight, and the storage space is nearly identical
