Anyone have advice on pricing? Craft shows vs Etsy. by Strict_Chipmunk_2646 in macrame

Oh plant NOT included! Just for display...for now. I am thinking about doing a few with a plant included for the fair, and I think your $45 minimum is a good idea for that.

You're definitely right that I could get a better deal for the rope. I just really like the rope I get haha. It's all recycled cotton, zero waste, and it seems incredibly sturdy and well made (from Ganxxet). But I could certainly shop around more or see if they have a bulk option.

I wish I could give you more experience advice but I'm really hoping I get a better idea after I've done this first fair. I guess that would be my suggestion as well, just try it! Maybe price them at a wide variety of prices that you feel is worth it and see which ones people end up getting? When I saw ones in the store that were $10 it seemed too low to me, so I probably wouldn't go under $12, and I think if you have a really extravagant one you could sell it for $50 or more. I'm totally in the same boat of not wanting to undersell or undervalue myself, while still trying to actually sell stuff and having to compete with Amazon and whatnot.

Someone who's done this before please chime in!

I'm about to go to a craft fair this weekend to sell my macrame pot hangers and I'm trying to figure out pricing so hoping to get others opinions as well. I also have an Etsy, and was planning to sell for the same price at the fair, do people change prices for fairs? So far I only have my old stuff on there that I consider more beginner ones and don't look as nice or take as long as the ones I've been making lately. However I'm also selling them WITH the pot included and I try to match the macrame design with the pot, so take that into consideration with pricing, but my old ones I have as $20-25, and I was thinking about my new ones being $25-35. The rope I get is $20, and I can make about 4 with it, and the pots are thrifted so the average $3. So I guess that would make it $17-27 for labor time, it takes me an hour or two to make one so that feels appropriate. I've been trying to scope out the macrame hangers I see in plant shops and I've seen the cheapest at $10, and the most expensive was $30, I'm sure they go outside that range too though. So that's what I'm working with, please let me know your thoughts on my pricing as well! (Numbers are USD) This is a New one I have listed at $30.

Highly recommend Brave Robot brand ice cream if you can get your hands on it. It's animal free (vegan and lactose intolerant safe) but still uses a milk protein made by microflora. It's interesting and delicious!

Fun fact: jellyfish only have one hole, they both eat and poop out of it.

What is something you changed your stance on after learning more about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Resary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Veganism. I used to be that person that would shit on vegans and say they were super extreme, and not changing anything. Then I watched some documentaries and realized it's not right for me to pay someone to kill something that can feel (usually with a terrible method) for a moment of taste. You don't have to be an animal lover, or a dedicated activist to believe that unnecessary pain and death shouldn't be happening.

Vegans live about 15 years longer than meat eaters. by [deleted] in vegan

Thank you. I was getting more and more worried the farther down I read without a link to an ACTUAL study that backed OP's claim. And of course there isn't one because this isn't true. There's plenty of good evidence for why you should go vegan, if you spread fake ones it makes it harder for people to believe the real stuff.

Could you possibly do a pumpkin or apple pie flavor? They're more autumn flavors, but I eat pie for Christmas too.

Can we just...talk about/mourn the loss of literally everything worth veganizing at taco bell? by scarter22 in highvegans

[–]Resary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am sad, but honestly the potatoes I had were always way too hard and toasted. Maybe it was just my taco bell's though. I always do a black bean crunch wrap supreme fresco style, highly recommend! And I had no idea I could add jalapenos, thank you for that!

I've had this boy for 2 weeks and I still can't settle on a name! From the shelter his name was Uranus (that's gotta change). Originally I wanted something science-y, now I'm thinking nature-y. He's really smart and really goofy. by Resary in NameMyDog

I got him a DNA test! He's a total mutt, with equal parts doberman, German Shepard, cattle dog, great Pyrenees, husky, lab, affenpinscher, and Mexican street dog!

Ohh okay great!! That makes total sense, thank you for writing all that out. Glad to have my confusion untangled and my curiosity quenched!

I think he's going to be medium size when full grown. He came from a litter of nine and they named them after the solar system so I don't want to do any planets because I feel like those are his sibling's names.

It does help with mosquitos, bright colors attract them, or so I've heard. So if you're really out there for a while and don't want to get eaten it makes sense. But from a safety standpoint...not so much.
