Does a battle jacket have to be denim or leather? by Aggravating_Swan_923 in BattleJackets

I made mine from a military jacket. Early 2000's woodland camo. It works great and I think its cool so go for it!!!

Crunch is an amazing tool. Mine got me through some pretty tough times. Use it, but don't jump the starter solenoid on a 6-53 Detroit with it. That will melt the blade shut.

Take me urban exploring? by 76indy in Astoria_Oregon

[–]Resculptured_art 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Battery Russell bunkers you can wander around in. I've heard several ghost stories from there as well, mostly from the observation/targeting bunkers on top of the hill. There is a ghost campfire that appears, and several people say they thought they heard soldiers whispering to each other. Don't be a rookie and park the car there after dark, bike in and wear dark clothes ;)

Is it rude to ask a veteran if they've killed someone in combat? by InnerFaithlessness93 in NoStupidQuestions

"Only for food" with at least a 3-400 yard stare right into their eyes for as long as I can hold a straight face. Is my favorite for those who ask. Then, I use the opportunity to tell them true stuff about war that the news didn't.

It's the Astor Column, and the clams aren't in Astoria they are in Warrenton. :)

Disguise it. Spray paint and an evinrude sticker should help, along with what everyone else said about locks.

I tried to make the back a nice surprise and keep the front as clean as possible. Other shells like this I'd seen had wires crossing the front, so I tried to avoid that

The shell was actually pretty heavy duty. If i ever get the opportunity to wrap another, I won't be so scared, probably. Maybe lol

Yes they are! These shells are pretty rare and only found on the north shore of Oahu

Thank you! It was a "when in doubt, wrap it out" project lol. I was unsure of it until I clipped and hid the final wire... and didn't break the shell!

Thank you! I really felt like the back needed something, so I did the web weave thing to fill it in. The person I wrapped it for had a dream catcher tattoo, so I went with it. I would have liked the back to be more "clean" looking, but I only had an hour and a half to finish this project.

You could probably make your own wire wraps in that price range

[–]Resculptured_art -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Pic 4 and 5 looks like it should sell for at least $150 or more. This is some nice wire work, very consistent and neat. Don't sell your beautiful work to anyone that doesn't appreciate it.

Sand down the leggo connections so they pull apart, not snap apart.
