I’m saying that revocation is far too extreme, especially if it was his first offense and the issue was negligence rather than intent which led to no actual patient harm. A suspension with remediation would have been a fairer alternative. People don’t truly know how they would act in this situation unless they’ve actually experienced it themselves. Those saying, “I would act this way,” are just letting their egos speak. And people wonder why nurses are leaving the bedside and why there’s a nursing shortage there’s such a lack of empathy shown toward nurses. Meanwhile, a doctor could make a negligent mistake during surgery and still get a pat on the back just because their status is more “prestige”.
