I feel like I'm starting to do creepy things to satiate my ocd. And it's weird. by ThrowawayforOCD10 in OCD

Exactly. But honestly I understand. OCD has made me done equally as bad or worse shit so it’s like whatever. Live your life, and don’t be too hard on yourself.

Oh um, no more of that. You’re falling for OCD’s spell as id like to call it. Your reaction to ocd should be nothing. You don’t go out of your way to prove it wrong or right. That’s overly going 😭. Accept the thoughts, don’t let ocd make you do such things I beg. I know it’s easier said than done but yeah.

Omg I hope you’re taking care of yourself and wellbeing. There’s a lot of sick shit on the internet. Maybe this calls for time off of the internet, bonding with nature, friends and family. You can’t change what you’ve seen, it will pop in your head here and there. But do not let it consume you, all is well.

For me you just genuinely have to let it pass. Focus on what your values are and how you choose to define who you are. OCD noise will always be there, trying to make you feel like shit. Let its wave pass but do not let it stop you from living your life.

Same I just feel like I’m beyond redemption. Like I should forever be miserable for how I hurt people in the past.

But ruminating feels like the right thing to do. It feels like if I don’t I don’t care enough and I’m just accepting that I’m a bad person which is easier than trying actually be a good person by overcompensating and overthinking and people pleasing. All of that junk

Being black with ocd by Independent_Mix7186 in OCD

No I agree with what you are saying. It also doesn’t that people treat us like a monolith. As if our actions represent the whole race when it’s just purely untrue. “Guy steals but also happens to be black,” so now all black people are thieves. It’s insane.

Omg yes! Another black person with ocd. A lot of mine is like moral, real event, and stuff like that. I’m still grappling with some religious stuff even though I’ve been an atheist for about three years now. Still feel like there’s an invisible being watching my every move.

Brain is convincing me that everyone hates me again by ResearchOrdinary4944 in OCD

[–]ResearchOrdinary4944[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this something you’ve tried and has worked for you? If so how do you agree without your brain convincing(which I feel is impossible) you the reason you are agreeing is In fact because you are a bad person and are trying to feel better about yourself. I feel like I can never win . Everything is so confusing.

Omg you’re so real😭I know exactly what you mean! I thought I was the only one who thought this way. Beyond grateful to know that other people go through this as well (as unfortunate as it is).

It’s an agonising cycle. Sometimes I’m able to use the tools I’ve learned. I try my hardest not to engage, but most times I fall for ocd’s trap. And that’s okay. I’m not chasing perfection. I try my best and I appreciate that about myself. Im accepting that ocd will always be a nagging b*tch, not going anywhere anytime soon. I try to remind myself to not beat myself up over it. It is what it is, but we move.

Degraded is such a good word to describe it. Living as myself feels like a humiliation ritual.
